Dear college professors,
The new school year has begun! It is wonderful to be back on campus, to be surrounded by friends who care, and to have a wide array of opportunities! While there are many aspects of this school year that many students are looking forward to experiencing, there are some moments that might seem daunting! In addition, even though there were stressful moments during this first week of school, I know that there will be other moments throughout during this semester that will be much harder. But in all actuality, I am, in a weird way, looking forward to those moments. Let me take the time to explain why.
I would like to take a moment to thank you for a variety of reasons. As your student, I know it may seem as though I don't care at times, or I seem like I don't want to be in your class, but most times that's not the case. Yes, there are days when I am super stressed about tests, papers, projects, and life in general, but that doesn't mean I don't care about you or your class. I care about you as my professor and I respect your dedication to your teaching practices. Yes, your pop quizzes might not be my favorite thing in the entire world, but I now understand and appreciate their importance. You care about your students, you want us to succeed in both your class and in our futures, and your teaching practices reflect those ideals. The challenging tests, quizzes, and papers are intended to push us to do better, to study harder, and to put forth our best effort in all that we do.

Thank you for challenging me. Thank you for pushing me to do better. Thank you for guiding me in my academic studies. Thank you for your profession.
Many thanks,
A college student who appreciates you
