A Letter To My Best Friend

Because I don't always tell you enough just how important you really are to me.

A Letter To My Best Friend

Dear Best Friend,

I hope you know how much I appreciate and love you. You are a big reason, if not the main reason I am where I am at today. You have seen me at my worst, and walked through this journey with me through the good times and the bad. You have always been a shoulder to cry on when I need it. I can never thank you enough for everything you have done.

Remember when we first met each other? Our love for Marilyn Monroe brought us together. And we both know when I say love, I really mean obsession. I never would have thought that years later you would be my main person to go to for advice, criticism, and an opinion on my decisions about my future.

I just hope you always see how much you are worth. How you are a woman of God and you are fearfully and wonderfully made. I cherish all of our laughs, jam sessions in the car, and taking so many snapchat videos that people never make it to the end of our stories. You showed me that eggs really can be ate at any time of the day, and that you can never be in too bad of a mood for an episode of The Fresh Prince. You got passion and desire, and just know that whatever you choose to do in the future, I will be standing next to you, supporting you.

Never doubt your gut feeling, and always go into a situation equipt with your armor. Because you may feel like a little mustard seed now, but the potential you have is amazing. You brought me back to where I am meant to be, and inspired me to be a better person, not just on the outside but genuinely better myself.

There's no one I would rather turn to when the road gets tough, or when I just need someone to vent to. Which lets face it, is what I do a lot of the time. But you never tell me what I want to hear, you tell me what I need to hear in order to move forward and in some cases, heal. When I hear you start to doubt yourself, I am always there to assure you, that girl, you didn't need him. Or just to talk you out of buying that shirt that you know you will just return in a day because you realize you didn't actually need it.

I admire your love for travel, and wanting to see the world, One day we will travel the world together, and see so much more than whats in our little corner of the globe. The way you always push yourself to go above and beyond for every situation you come across is astounding. You have endless possibilities at your fingertips, and I don't think you ever take the time to actually sit down for five seconds and realize that. Go after your dreams, never settle for that icing bag or computer screen you get put behind, because you know where you are called to be. You can and will make your dreams happen, and I am your number one fan, cheering you on because I know how far you can go.

So stay sassy, always speak your mind, and never let anyone tell you that you can't do something, especially when you know you can.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
