Dear my new Best Friend,
I know I’ve only known you for a few months, it’s really crazy for me to think that I only met you in August, but you’ve become a part of my life. I wouldn’t want to spend my time in a new place with anyone else but you! So here are some of the things that I need to thank you for, cause we all know that I don’t say thanks enough.
Thanks for making college feel like home. Whenever I come back to school after leaving my parents and my home you are always there to cheer me up. You make me remember how much I love college and how fun it is to make new friends. Thanks for letting me sleepover in your dorm when I don’t want to walk back to mine or for letting me borrow your favorite shirt (I know that was hard for you). Being around you makes me feel like I’m back at home with my sister, and I love that.
Thanks for letting me act ridiculous around you. You let me send you really ugly snapchats and you run around campus like an idiot at night with me. You join in with me when I want to do something childish, you go off campus with me late at night, and you never judge me for making weird faces and noises (as I’m writing this I’m beginning to see just how stupid I’ve acted around you). You listen to my really bad voice in the car when I want to belt some Hannah Montana music and when I feel like dancing you always join in with me (even if I look really dumb).
Thanks for being there for me. When I need to cry, you let me cry and you listen to why I am sad, then you go and cheer me up with my favorite things. When I want to eat more dessert in the caf but I don’t want to be alone, you go get dessert with me and we stuff our faces together. When I need help unloading my car, you rush over and carry all of my stuff in my dorm. You support me when I need to make big decisions, you try to help me stay calm when school has me all stressed out, you pray for me when I need guidance and you’re my biggest fan at school. I’m not sure what I would do without your support!
Thanks for being interested in my life outside of school. You listen to me talk about things I did in high school or the places that I’ve traveled with my family, even though I didn’t know you back then. You make an effort to get to know my family because you know how important they are to me. Thanks for playing ball with my brother and for joining in on strange dinner conversations with my family. Thanks for letting me tell you about my dream jobs after we graduate and for showing you my dream house. You are always there to listen to me ramble about the things I want to do in my lifetime and what’s going on with my life back at home.
I’m so thankful to have a friend like you, and I only hope that I can be just as great of a friend as you are. I’m so thankful I met you a few months ago and I can’t wait for many more adventures at school with you by my side. Thanks for being the Brooke Davis to my Peyton Sawyer (and for talking about One Tree Hill with me for hours).
With love,
Me
