When I first began my college experience at a small university in the state of Alabama, I thought I had everything all planned out. You want the truth? The truth is I didn't have it all planned out. I thought I wanted to go into marketing or some other business aspect and settle for a random desk job for the rest of my life. The school I started at was a small liberal arts school, so many of the students were pursuing majors that I had never even considered. One of my key problems was that I was aware of most of the majors offered, but I had no idea what you could actually do with them.
When you finally understand the necessities of looking at future possibilities of someone with certain majors, you're better able to understand what major you think you should pursue. There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking your time finding out what you want to do with your life. I mean, why would you waste possibly tens of thousands of dollars on a degree, not knowing if you're going to actually like your potential career or not? I changed my major many times, because I got to college and discovered all of these fascinating subjects that we never took in high school.
I say all of this to let you know that it is okay to change your major. It's okay to seriously ponder on what you want to do for the rest of your life. Just understand that you are doing yourself a favor by continuing your education, so don't sell yourself short!
