Life is the greatest teacher.

Being on this planet for 19 years there are some lessons that I have learned about life. I still know that I have much more to learn about myself and life as the years go on. But for now I feel that I have learned some valuable lessons that I can share.

If something is worth it, it will not be easy.

Life will throw a curve ball at you every once in a while. Sometimes it throws a whole bunch at you at the same time. It is always about how you react to these situations that will make you a stronger and better person in the end. I know times may seem tough now but trust me in a couple years the things you are worrying about now will seem silly. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel.

The friends that you had in high school may not be the same as the friends that you have today or in a couple years.

As you grow and learn more about yourself your friends will most likely change as you do. This is perfectly okay. People change and so should your friends, just because you were friends with them in high school does not mean that you have to be friends with them for the rest of your life. Times change and so do people.

Your first love will not be your greatest love.

It's been said many times that your first love is everlasting and always the best. This is simply not the case. During this relationship you learned so much about yourself and how you want your significant other to treat you as a person. Your first love was most likely not the best experience and was basically a learning experience on how to treat someone you care about and how to talk to them. Your first love was great but your next one will be a lot better.

If it won't matter five years from now, don't stress about it.

Stress is something that can easily consume a person and make them feel so overwhelmed. Life is so valuable and shouldn't be wasted on something mean that someone said about you or anything that you could possibly stress over that wont matter in five years. Now if you are stressing over something that will matter in five years then take healthy ways to manage this stress and do not let it get the best of you.

Life is worth living.

There is so much more to life then all of the bad things that you will face. But you must remember that all of the bad things that happen something good is bound to happen in return. Life can be so beautiful and so ugly at the same time. You must look on the positive side of things and always look on the bright side. Not to quote Justin Bieber or anything but life truly is worth living.

You will lose people you care about along the way.

Death is just a normal part of life. People are born they live their life then they die. Sadly that's just the way things work. It is how you deal with these situations that matters the most. I miss the people that I have loved and are gone now, some of them too soon. But because of this I have learned to live my life thinking that this is what they would want me to do and that they are always watching over me.

The real value of having a job and making my own money.

Having a job has taught me so much about dealing with people and how to talk to people. Working with food can sometimes be a pain because people get cranky when they are hungry but having a job has taught me how to deal with these people no matter how they act towards me. Having a job has also taught me the value of a dollar. Making my own money means that I don't want to spend it as much as I wanted to spend Mom and Dads money. I made this money I worked hard to earn this and I don't want to waste it on something that I will never use again or will only use once.

Learn how to have fun.

Having fun is one of the best things in life (when the time is appropriate of course). Just because you aren't a child any more does not mean that you cannot cut loose every once in a while and just have fun. Life can be very serious at times but it does not have to be all the time. Having fun and doing things that you love is one of the most important life lessons I've learned so far.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
