As I walk along the shore on the edge of the continent, I marvel in the beauty of Earth. And even more so, the lessons that we can learn from it. Nature is the strongest force I feel most times. I have felt the sun come from behind the clouds just as I needed reassurance that I would be okay when battling trying times. I have felt the rain when I was desperately in need of something, anything to wash away my pain, my sorrows, and my past, and I have felt the wind blow so strongly, wrapping me in its embrace to assure me that I’m on the right path and that there are souls watching out for me. Call me crazy, but I’ve felt all of this. Exactly when I needed it.
I respect nature. I realize that we can learn a lot from it. It speaks to us in mysterious ways. The sunrise reminds us that no matter how dark a battle you are facing, the light will return. It’s never too late to begin again, because every morning is another chance. While in turn, the sunset shows us that things can come to an end, both good and bad. The days will pass and we must enjoy what we have while we have it. Never take a single thing for granted.
The river reminds us to be strong and persevering. Look calm, while setting out on your life’s journey with the power and might that true confidence requires. Never doubt yourself because you have a steady stream of innovative ideas and creativity coursing through your veins, and they are all yours. And they will never run out if you just believe in yourself and your abilities.
The valleys remind us that we will have our low times in the shadows, but the mountains remind us that life is also full of huge monumental, on-top-of-the-world feelings. Ones that come with a remarkable view. They teach us that the road that leads to those sights isn’t always easy and that it takes work—but it is always worth it. And that you are capable of much more than you can even imagine.
The flowers remind us to be happy. To lead colorful lives and to soak up all the sun that we can. We can see how they demonstrate positivity and determination. To grow through the mud against all odds.
The trees are there to show you how important it is to stand your ground. To hold true to your own and to let no external circumstances break your vibrant spirit. Your life, your mood and your happiness are yours only; letting others take control of that is absolutely unacceptable. You deserve to grow old having more years to celebrate, like tree rings, in your own bliss that you have created. A harsh winter may freeze off your leaves, but a warm spring is just around the bend. And don’t forget autumn and its wonderful teachings in the beauty of change.
And look to the sea, where I am walking now. Along the edge of land, looking out at the majesty laid out before me. I am humbled by this element of nature. I am humbled by how small I feel next to this vast ocean with waves moving in a steady current. I am but a small, tiny human on this Earth, and a miniscule speck of almost nothing in relation to this grand universe, but I matter and I will always find my way. Or so nature tells me.
