2.) Don't Forget Where You Came From
Despite the high socioeconomic status Uncle Phil has achieved, he has endured to his difficult hardships in his early life. Uncle Phil emphasizes, he knows where he comes from by talking about Malcolm X.
3.) The Loss of Abandonment By A Beloved One
One of the most heartfelt scenes in Fresh Prince is when Will's dad leaves him again. This excellent scene displays how influential the love and support of a parent can have on their child. A parental role figure can be anyone.
4.) Violence: "That's not you, that's them."
Unfortunate events happen in life and this scene Will gets shot that almost nearly cost his life. After his life threatening experience, Will teaches Carlton that revenge and violence isn't the answer.
5.) Accepting that Your Mom/Dad has found a new love partener
"Momma No!" is a classic phrase from Will! Will walks unexpectedly into his mother's room to catch her having sex with her partener. Will may be a grown man but in life when these circumstances occur, introducing someone new into your life can be a difficult transition to anyone.
6.) Defend Yourself Against All Odds
Carlton gets called a sell out by a fraternity club because of his wealth. Carlton speaks up for himself by saying, " You think I am sell out because I live in a big house and dress a certain way.. I'm running the same race and jumping the same hurdles. You say we need to stick together but you don't even know what that means if you ask me."
