Things To Know If You Weren't Allowed To Watch SpongeBob

"Spongebob Squarepants" first aired on Nickelodeon on May 1, 1999, and has been gracing television sets since that day. It is hard for me to remember a time in my life where Spongebob did not exist. But recently, it has come to my attention that not all people who in their childhood were allowed to watch the sponge who lived in a pineapple under the sea. I personally find this to be a tragedy. I have decided to take on the responsibility of filling all of you in. For those of you who were deprived of this work of art, here are a few answers to questions you may have had.

Who is Spongebob Squarepants?

According to Wikipedia, Spongebob is "an energetic and optimistic sea sponge who lives in a sea pineapple and loves his job as a fry cook." The show is based on his outlook on life and the shenanigans he and his undersea friends get into. His good intentions and positivity tend to create chaos.

Who are Spongebob's friends?

From left to right: Plankton is Spongebob's enemy who is trying to steal the secret recipe for the Krusty Krab and owns the Chum Bucket (a rival restaurant). Mr. Krabs is Spongebob's boss and owner of the Krusty Krab. Sandy is a squirrel from Texas who lives in an underwater tree dome. Next to Spongebob is Squidward, his grumpy neighbor who plays the clarinet. He also works at the Krusty Krab but hates it. Patrick lives next to Squidward and isn't the brightest, but he is Spongebob's best friend. Gary is Spongebob's pet snail.

Where does Spongebob live?

Spongebob lives under the sea in Bikini Bottom. He specifically lives on 124 Conch Street.

Who created Spongebob?

Spongebob was created by Stephen Hillenberg who is a marine biologist. He presented his idea for the show to Nickelodeon by bringing a fish tank into the board room. He explained all of the living creatures inside and then placed a drawing of Spongebob inside and said, "This is Spongebob, the star of your new show." He also directed "Rocko's Modern Life."

What is so funny about a sea sponge?

Here are just a few of my favorite "SBSP" moments to answer this one.

1. Spongebob performs at the Super Bowl

2. No, this is Patrick.

3. Hoopla

4. I can't see my forehead!

5. The Hash Slinging Slasher

(Just to name a few.)

Where can I watch Spongebob?

Spongebob is frequently on Nickelodeon, and episodes can also be streamed online on their website.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
