It’s sometimes difficult to stay in the present because often times our minds wander toward the future or even back to the past. We as people tend to ask ourselves where we will be in five years or ten years within our careers, relationships, and finances rather than be thankful for the present day that we have been given.
It isn’t the easiest to keep our minds focussed on the present because what we see are the chores that we have do, the work that we have to accomplish, the appointments we have to go to, and the meetings that we anxiously await. But in order to get to the future picture that we see ourselves in, each one of these days in the present matters just as much.
Instead of dreading the more difficult parts of our everyday lives, we should be thankful that we are able to get up out of bed and experience a full day on this Earth. The tragedies that continue to happen throughout the nation on an everyday basis should put these thoughts into perspective for us all. You never know what can happen, therefore it is important to live life to the fullest and be thankful that you are alive.
Throughout these times of despair and sadness, it’s vital that we continue to be ourselves and spend time with our family members and friends. We should go out into this world with our heads held high with pride and gratitude, together as one whole nation. Instead of dividing ourselves based on our differences, we should appreciate our diversities.
By focussing on the present, we as one nation can overcome the challenges that we face in the world by empathizing and continuing to move forward. Life is too short to not express our true selves and do what makes us happy. So do something nice for someone else, smile often, and live in reality. Leave a positive mark on this planet for those who didn’t receive another day. I promise you, you will feel fulfilled.
