Patience is key in life. It is a valuable lesson that some people have a hard time or try to avoid learning.
As I sat by the ocean, listening to the waves crash and enjoying the peace, I came to the realization that I was not being patient. I have wanted things that I thought was best at the time, but didn't work out for me in the long run.
This past week I achieved goals that I was starting to think were impossible and it only took patience and faith to get what was truly for me. As a person gains patience, he or she gains wisdom; knowing that if it is meant to be, it will be. This is a valuable life-long lesson that can be implemented into almost every situation life throws at us. In relationships, we may think that it is meant for us to be with that "special someone" until we stay patient and learn that the person we were hoping for isn't who we truly want.
In employment, we may think we really want a particular job until patience kicks in and we find a job that would better benefit us. In school, we may think that the major we have always been eager to achieve is not what makes us happy.
By learning patience, I have learned that those three things have all worked out in my favor, though I didn't think so at the time it was happening. As I lied beside the beach wishing for the tide to go out so I could swim further out, it took patience. Sitting there for five hours, the waves began to crash further and further back. Eventually, I was able to swim to the sandbar located at the first buoy. The sandbar is nonexistent until the tide goes out and most people think it is not there. We all know that the ocean has a time of its own, kinda like life.
I am a strong believer in our time is not always the best time, God is ALWAYS on time! Like the ocean, sometimes our life crashes, stays still, has storms, but stays beautiful. History shows that as some ships avoided the light house for the correct path, some ships sunk. That is true with us as people too. We have to follow the lighted path God is paving for us or else we will sink. It is hard to live each day knowing that things will unfold in God's time because it is human flesh to not have pateince and think we need somehting or someone right now! Remember to stay patient and have faith, then none other will fail.
