Spring Has Arrived: Transitioning Your Wardrobe

Rise and shine! Spring has sprung, the temperatures are warming up with rays breaking through the clouds, the birds are singing from sun rise to sun set, and the flowers are beginning to break through the once solid and snow covered ground. Another life cycle is beginning. If you are anything like me, this season brings the soul some much needed color and happiness.

With the changing of seasons comes one of my favorite things: transitioning my wardrobe. I finally get to break out the trench coat and Hunter’s that have been hiding in storage containers. Spring doesn’t last long, so I jump on the opportunity to alternate my closet as soon as possible.

It isn’t quite hidden knowledge from friends and family that I am a shopaholic. However, I prefer to rock the latest styles by scouring sites and stores that won’t break the bank and using staple items that are more than likely already present in my closet.

So without further ado, here are the latest spring trends to vibe in this 2017.

Let's begin with my new favorite trend that celebrities such as Pia Mia have been spotted in as of late: tights under ripped jeans.

If you aren't comfortable in a pair of fishnets, sheer nylons will work just as well. I found my pair at Target for $8 or so, and I am obsessed. I wore this look a lot when I spent time in Rome and Paris a month ago. I got so many compliments that I decided to try and brave them back here in the states as well.

I am pleased to say I stumbled upon the same reaction. Whether out for dinner or at the bar, the look received so much love. If you follow Pia Mia at all, you know her signature look is to wear a crop top with them so the top band of the fishnets rises above the jeans. This can be worn as well, however, it is a little more of a sexier way to rock this simple look. An added plus is they keep your legs warm even if it hasn't completely hit warmer temperatures yet.

Another way to prove you are ready to leave the cold temps behind, yet still be decently covered is off-the-shoulder sweaters. Pair it up with your favorite baseball cap and, April showers brings May flowers, so don't forget your rain boots! A look that is effortless, yet chic.

Speaking of May flowers, it is even spring if you aren't rocking something floral? I paired this crop top with a midi skirt, perfect for covering those pale toned legs desperately in need of some sunlight.

Spring temps don't always promise 70 degrees and sunny, so pair this up with your favorite denim jacket and you are good to go.

This final look you have probably picked up on already, but if not, listen closely. Exposed bralettes are a trend I see sticking around for a while, so hop on the train now!

Victoria's Secret and Express (I found mine on clearance for $10) are my go-to for open-backed shirts and sweaters; meanwhile, bralettes can be picked up at anywhere from Charlotte Russe to Pacsun.

Pair this look up with your new floppy hat you have been dying to rip the tags off of, and you will be the envy of all girls everywhere.

So get ready ya'll, spring is in the air! Welcome the warmer temps with these small changes to your wardrobe and I promise, you will be looking as good as you feel.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
