There are cries amongst the nation and the countries across seas. These cries are not ones of joy but of agony. Tears that do not stop running. More blood begins to cover our nation. The Dove that flies representing peace starts to turn red. The same red that runs through our hearts starts to turn black. Some of our hearts start to slow and are brought to a sudden stop. Those hearts that were stopped so suddenly we now carry them with us. Their unfinished dreams, their uncompleted lives will not just erase. We will continue on for them, we will not have their memory go to waste. Their hearts that are no longer filled, those eyes that no longer show expression, their voice which is now muted. We will make them alive again. Their heart that turned black will now turn white, their eyes we will no longer see, we will show them from our eyes the rest of the story, their voice will now be our voices.
We all have seen the news whether it was through social media or by word of mouth, we have seen the numbers that had taken the place of names, we later then knew their names, there faces. In a place where they should have felt safe, felt secured to be themselves. Instead someone that can not be considered a person destroyed that. They, the destroyers, had given themselves the power over life. No one should have that power to decide who gets to live or die. Why is it that no one can ever be themselves? Why do people have to face ridicule, hated just for being themselves? How many lives have been taken because of someones choice of religion, sexuality and race? We are all human beings, just because we are not all the same does not make that bad. It only makes us unique, it makes us special. Because of this attack on the LGBT community, one would say it has brought them down, put fear into them. Yet that is not true, they are stronger than ever, sadly it is destruction against people that bring them together. They stand united with their allies, candles lit across the globe. Singing filling the air and touching our heart. The attacks against a community will not make them go in defeat, it will only make them stand strong, it will make others stand beside them. These titles/ labels that separated us are not wall that separates us when one is attacked. Regardless of these labels we will be seen as one.
No one will be left alone, tears will not be looked away from. You are you and I will not look at you differently.
