This project consists of Lupe Sapon, an individual who seems to smile (a lot).

Part Four:

This set of photographs displays a calm and serene person I know, who is quite interesting based on her quiet appearance and how she conducts herself with respect. She seems to be quite silent with a bit of difference from everybody else which makes her respectable among her friends and associates. As you will see throughout these photographs in this piece, the overall atmosphere within them is more than just black and white, but being who she is with a bright and glowing smile.

Enjoy!

Photograph One: Laughing with a ton of joy, Lupe begins to be herself for the project and lets loose with enjoyment.

Photograph Two: The setting in the background seems to be quite inviting for the photograph and the contrast that lies in the depths of the details in the objects within the photograph.

Photograph Three: The forestation behind Lupe seems to compliment the photograph where it adds multiple layers in the background for the viewer to set their eyes on, with attention towards the details in the photograph.

Photograph Four: The enjoyment of being on top of the University of La Verne seems to be showing through her smile as the views brings the essence of La Verne in a whole setting at once.

Photograph Five: Smiling with joy to be a part of this project, Lupe grows happier with the views that this newly built parking lot displays with the students on the top level.

Photograph Six: Deciding to use the newly built parking lot structure for her location in this project, Lupe seems to be enjoying the environment where it seems to be secluded and divided from the University of La Verne.

Photograph Seven: With the sun setting, her smile begins to get wider as the night is filled with interesting activities to partake in, within the University of the La Verne.

Photograph Eight: The golden smile seems to be dispersing the forming of the clouds as the winds begin to pick up and make her hair to flow in the air.

Photograph Nine: With the clouds forming behind her, she grasps the changing weather with a smile as she enjoys the cooler setting of the weather in California for a nice and warm night.

Photograph Ten: Looking upon the sun setting on the top of the University of La Verne, Lupe seems like this is the perfect ending for the day and time to rest up for the next day.

Words from Lupe:

"I chose the parking lot structure because it has a beautiful view of the city

surrounding us."

My Experience:

The overall experience made me go wild with the creativity flowing in my head where the background could be manipulated with due to the various amounts of objects and structures in the background. The subject of this project is Lupe Sapon, who finds enjoyment in keeping things above the top and being number one in many of her activities that she partakes.

The mood of the project ranged from being completely noisy to being silent based on the side of the parking lot structure that was chosen for the noisy environment consisted of the cars racing down the street, and the trains passing by where the silent side consisted of the major buildings of the University of La Verne such as the Campus Center or Vista (high class dormitory for honor students and upperclassmen).

Overall the project felt nice and overly joyous filled with jokes on both ends to loosen the mood of the noisy and silent environments.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
