Kendall and Kylie Jenner have created their own app. The company Glu Games (which also created sister Kim Kardashian's app) has developed an app for these stars. The app, which is called Kendall and Kylie, allows you to create a unique avatar and rise in stardom in ways that are beyond anyone's wildest dreams. I mean, (spoiler alert) since when do you meet Kendall and Kylie Jenner in an organic way and get invited to walk a red carpet at an event they're involved in the next day?
Kendall and Kylie is essentially the same as the Kim Kardashian: Hollywood game. In both games, you must complete different tasks to level up, you're able to travel to different cities and meet other characters in the game to befriend them or start dating them. The avatars look the same, the tasks are completed in the same way, and (pro tip) you can click on random objects throughout the game to collect coins or other things that are essential to doing well.
One thing that's somewhat different between the games is the importance of social media in Kendall and Kylie. Some tasks revolve around getting a certain number of followers on a social media platform and others require you to invent a caption for a picture or video you "posted." Additionally, Kendall and Kylie post pre-filmed videos of themselves saying things like, "We hope you're enjoying our game!" and making comments about different aspects of this virtual reality as if they were their characters in the game.
Kendall and Kylie also features a lot more of the two, than Kim is featured in her game. While you're still living a life online, Kendall and Kylie become your friends: they take you on vacation, invite you to their parties, follow you on Twitter -- they do everything that any teenage girl (or boy) has once dreamed of happening to them. Can you imagine having Kendall Jenner follow you on Twitter? I'm crying thinking about it.
One thing that I found interesting is that the developers of the app really style the characters (both clothes your avatar can buy and the clothes Kendall and Kylie wear themselves) to things they wear or would wear in real life. There are paparazzi pictures of Kendall out to lunch wearing a certain shirt, jeans and boots and the virtual version of her is pictured wearing the exact same thing in one part of the game. Kendall and Kylie super fans are undoubtedly able to recognize some of the outfits that are featured in the app from the real world. It's touches like these that give the game a unique quality and connect it back to something real.
Even though games like Kendall and Kylie are filled with the same old "rising star" storyline, I was addicted to Kim's game, and now I'm addicted to Kendall and Kylie's. If Kourtney or Khloe ever decide to release a similar app, I'll still download it in hopes of becoming a virtual A-lister.
