Going to college is a very strange concept. After living with your parents for 18 years, you're expected to all of a sudden know how to live on your own a lot of times without your best friends from high school.
You probably freaked out thinking that you'd make no new friends, but trust me, they're out there and chances are you'll find them sooner than you think.
But in case you're still not sure, here's how you know you've found your best friends:
1. You're already taking pictures like this the first week of school...
2. About half of the pictures on your phone are awkward or ugly pictures of them.
3. You guys can have fun together regardless of what you're doing -- going out, sitting in your room, or even listening to the most boring lecture ever.
4. If your friends do want to go out that night, they know exactly how to convince you to be social and hang out with them
...and of course every night with them is a great night.
5. If they go out without you, you let them, or even ask them to, come in when they get in at an ungodly hour to tell you about their crazy adventure even though you went to sleep four hours earlier.
6. And you owe them more mac & cheese than you can count from all the nights they gave you Easy Mac after a long night.
7. You never knock before going in their room.
8. You even sit on their beds and wait for them to come home from class because, without them, you're bored beyond belief.
9. When you're tired, you text them rather than walking to them or yelling,even if they're in the same room or across the hall.
10. They don't judge you for being weird. Instead, they join you even if you're in public.
11. You wear their clothes more than you wear your own.
12. They can get on your last nerve...especially when you're sleep deprived and trying to study for an exam which may lead to dumb fights.
...but you're back to being your weird selves within 10 minutes.
13. You actually tell them the honest answer when they ask for your opinion on their outfits after all, they did ask you for a reason.
14. People think you knew each other before college because of how close you are even if you've only known each other for a few weeks.
So it may be scary to meet new people, but trust me, you'll meet amazing people in no time. And you'll just know when you meet the ones you'll always call your best friends.
