You Know You Have Too Many Siblings When...

Having a lot of siblings can actually be one of the greatest gifts in life, but at the same time, there are moments that have made you wish you were an only child. But, as much as you think or say that, you wouldn't want to change a thing. You have a indescribable kind of love for your siblings that others wouldn't understand.

1. Family parties
We all have that one boring family party every year where you have to talk about a whole year in a small amount of time to various relatives. Someone calls you one of your siblings names but you just go along with it at this point instead of constantly correcting them every time. You get to a point where you just sit in the corner with a sibling and laugh at all your weird family members and keep asking your mom when we're gonna leave.

2. Food
"Oh, you wrote your name on that? I didn't know it was yours!" is the biggest lie of them all. Eating your siblings' food in the fridge and pretending you didn't know it was theirs happens all the time. Also, first come first serve. If you don't come down to dinner in time there may not be any dinner left. The food in the house is a free for all. Get it while you can before it's gone. No food is safe.

3. Car rides
We all squeeze into the mini van, while one sibling is hitting another, and one wants the air up while the other wants the heat up. "Can we watch a movie?", "Shut up, no one wants to watch that!", "Stop kicking my seat!" "Why do you get the front seat?" It's a constant argument in the car. No one can ever sit in the car peacefully.

4. Vacation
Vacations are very rare coming from a family with a lot of siblings. The best vacations were going down to the beach but other than that we don't go on vacation because there are just too many of us. We are used to it. Seemingly everyone that you know takes their families to Florida, California, or Mexico, and you can barely get all your siblings to a restaurant for dinner.

5. "Where is my shirt?"
The best thing about having siblings is stealing their clothes even though they are gonna kill you when they see you in their shirt. You don't mind though. They'll get over it. Sharing is caring.

6. Family photo
"Don't stick your tongue out!", "I blinked.", "We don't need a family photo!", "Stop giving me bunny ears!" Taking a family photo is extremely difficult and no one ever cooperates for it. Someone is always complaining while another is trying to be the center of attention. Family portraits are very valuable because they don't happen often.

7. Living room
You are never able to sit in the living room and watch what you want without getting into an argument over the remote with a sibling. It's usually settled by some yelling and someone leaving and going to their room aggravated. So when you get the living room tv, it's kind of a big deal.

8. School
You're always asked about your older siblings by teachers and constantly being compared to them. You can't get through the first day of a school year without a teacher bringing up your older siblings they taught.

9. The favorite
Each parent has a favorite child but never wants to admit it. You always poke fun at the sibling you know who is the favorite and harass the one you think is the least favorite. But in reality, your parents love you all the same even though it may not seem like it at times. It's always a good inside joke with your siblings.

10. "You have so many siblings!"
I get that all the time and I get questioned about it a lot. Yes, I have seven siblings. It's great actually, I love it. There is never a dull moment and always someone to hangout with. Common questions are, "Do you have your own room?", "How do you guys eat dinner?", "What number are you?", "Are you close with all of them?", and "Do you like having that many siblings?"

11. You wouldn't change a thing
Being apart of a big family and having lots of siblings is honestly amazing. Yes, life isn't as luxurious as some families who have just two or three kids because they don't have so many siblings to support, but I've learned to love it. You don't need the vacations or fancy dinners like most families because you have so many siblings who will forever be in your life.

12. You will always have each other
Siblings are forever and with so many it's not hard to find someone to talk to and hangout with. You are never alone. Literally, there is always someone home. You don't know what it's like to have the house to yourself, and on the rare occasion that you do it is the best feeling ever, you feel like you're in paradise.

Having a lot of siblings is something to be proud of and love. Not many people get to say they have older siblings to take them out to eat or younger siblings to play with. A brother and sister is one of the best gifts life can give you. Your siblings mean everything to you and you can't imagine your crazy life without them.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
