Kind Always Define

Kindness shouldn't fade.

Kind Always Define

People say, kindness is key to life. I find it to be true. Some people, not so much apparently.

I'm a part-time cashier and whenever I smile genuinely or are kind, customers act surprised almost. Some even say, "Thank you for smiling, you're so smiley and friendly." I smile and say thank you.

Then I wonder, do people usually not smile to customers or people in general? Are people not usually as kind?

I know people think smiling or being kind to others can be nice but there are some people who always look like they are pissed. Their days might not be going as smoothly so their tone seems unpleasant.

I guess some people think being kind isn't as important, but it really is. It's one of the most important characteristics a person can have.

I think about bullies, and how life is just like high school. There are a group of friends that we chat and hang with but treat others differently, some people would treat others as if they are a piece of dirt.

Whatever happened to kindness and compassion? Is it dead? Are we so content with trying to look out for ourselves that we don't even care what happens to other people?

Although we live our life according to us, we must not forget who helped us along the way or we shouldn't forget how to be kind. It shouldn't be a class, it should be in our character.

Sometimes, people forget that while hate is a learned trait, so is kindness. We have always been taught by our parents to be kind, we also are taught hate and violence. We've seen so much hate and violence that we want to do it back to others. We shouldn't.

We should fight back with kindness, and if that doesn't work then walk away. No human being is worth going to jail for. It might seem, "an eye for an eye," but people forget the second part, which is, "makes the whole world go blind."

Society shouldn't turn away humans, we should always be cautious but forgetting our kindness is not a great thing.

Everyone wants to be remembered for something. For instance, I want to be remembered as the girl who made her own path, in addition to being kind.

It's not worth being remembered as someone who was hateful or easily mad.

Think about it. If you pass away today, when your loved ones are asked about you and your character, how do you think they'll respond? Hopefully, you're the kind of person who can be kind, patient, and worth remembering.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
