It is that time of the year again, and going back to school is always tough. For those students that are going to college out of state for the first time or even just to another city, anxiety is probably having a party in your head right about now.

Personally, this is the first semester that I have ever been away from my family, and it is definitely the hardest thing I have ever done. I am a super big family girl; my grandma is my best friend, my godchild is my absolute world, and well, like every other girl, I adore my boyfriend to pieces. So, of course moving away from them has given me anxiety like never before. Most nights I will cry A LOT, and I don't want to. I mean I am at the best university in the country, my dream school, but I just wish I could have my family with me.

If you are like me and struggle with change or with your dreams finally coming true, then here are a few helpful tips to get you out of the heart ache and struggle of moving away.

For one: GET INVOLVED, I can not stress this enough because having good friends is the number one way to make life way easier! Plus, it helps to pass the time and take your mind off of how much you want to be home every night.

Second: study. For the love of God and everything good in the world, please study! Don't just skip out on life just because you can't see your family every second of the day.

Third: exercise. Working out may not be everyone's number one interest, but it is proven that working out releases stress.

If none of these methods work then maybe you should go closer to home for college. But bottom line don't let your anxiety control your life. There is no better counselor for you so just calm down and relax and realize that nothing is forever. Everything is temporary and college can only make your life easier in the long run.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
