Texas teenager Ahmed Mohamed brought a clock that he made to school to hopefully impress his teacher, but it all went south when she felt threatened by it and the boy was put in handcuffs last week.
Personally I think the police did their job by taking this so called threat seriously. What really bothers me is the way the whole situation started. Clearly this kid is intelligent and always has been. Through his 14 years of schooling he never once was considered a threat, but he was considered a smart kid. Now that he is making the transition into high school are you meaning to tell me that this teacher didn't know of the intelligence this kid was bringing to the table? He made the clock to show to the teacher so he could be praised and get recognition for an invention he created.
What I am trying to say is, this kid should not have been taken as a threat. I understand why the situation was handled the way it was, but I think more research should be done on students before you begin making accusations about them.
