If you have a Twitter account and are an active tweeter (or reader), you have seen the outrage surrounding Vogue India's choice to feature Kendall Jenner on the cover of their special edition titled the “10th Anniversary Collector's Edition.” Vogue India tried to respond to the backlash by saying there are multiple special eitions, and since Vogue is an international brand, they want to feature international supermodels.

But that’s just it. Perhaps Vogue India is a part of an international brand, but Vogue India itself is not created to be geared towards the international community. Vogue India is designed to help readers “Find the latest news, trends & tips from India's premier beauty & fashion magazine” per their own website.

So instead of perpetuating the colonial mindset and turning back the clock on all of the hard work done by people to redefine beauty standards to include every ethnicity, why choose a pretty white girl who said that Indian food was disgusting? Why not give some beautiful Indian women the credit they deserve?

Here are 8 Indian models that deserved a feature in Vogue India:

1. Aishwarya Rai

Miss World 1994. She has since become a wildly successful model and actress, and she continues to be referred to by many as the most beautiful woman in the world.

2. Ujjwala Raut

Credited with being India's first supermodel, Ujjwala has walked down the runways for nearly every couture designer in the book: Yves Saint-Laurent, Roberto Cavalli, Hugo Boss, Cynthia Rowley, Diane von Furstenberg, Dolce & Gabbana, Betsey Johnson, Gucci, Givenchy, Valentino, Oscar de la Renta, and Emilio Pucci. She has even walked in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

3. Priyanka Chopra

Not only was Priyanka crowned Miss World 2000, she is also a renowned Bollywood singer and actress holding many titles and winning numerous awards.

4. Sushmita Sen

Sushmita is an actress and model who rose to fame after winning Miss Universe in 1994. She defied what was considered socially acceptable in India by adopting a girl and becoming a single mother at the age of 25.

5. Bipasha Basu

Bipasha is a popular model and actress. Her work in Hindi movies has made her extremely well known and one of the highest-paid actresses in India.

6. Vidya Balan

Vidya is a Bollywood star who's primarily known for her work in romantic comedies. Along with starring in films (and winning numerous awards), Vidya also does a lot of work with causes that promote female empowerment and equality.

7. Aditi Arya

Not only is Aditi Femina Miss India 2015, she is also a research analyst with a degree from the College of Business Studies at Delhi University. Her proudest accomplishment is her ability to "represent India across all types of international platforms, whether beauty pageants or business conclaves." - Femina Beauty Pageants

8. Urvashi Rautela

Urvashi was crowned Miss Diva 2015, and she went on to represent India at Miss Universe 2015. Urvashi passed her IIT and AIEEE exams making her eligible to work towards a degree in engineering. Though she started school to become an engineer, she left to pursue her dreams as a model and actress.

The list of incredible Indian women that deserve a spot on the cover of Vogue India goes on for miles. This means that even if the women on this short list are not suitable, there are many other deserving women not named Kendall Jenner.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
