Have you noticed the Glittery disco balls that have been dropped all over the world? If you follow Katy Perry on social media, you would know all about it. Last Wednesday, Katy Perry tweeted out a map of locations that these mysterious disco balls were showing up at. If you check out chainto.katyperry.com , you could see if there was one near you! They had her new song playing around the world!

Following this tweet, Katy Perry replied to and retweeted fans who were finding these glittery disco balls all over the world!

Why, you ask, is she doing this? And what is going on?

Katy dropped her new single “Chained to the Rhythm” on Friday, and performed it for the first time on the Grammy’s stage on Sunday. This promotion has to do with her new song, her first one since 2016’s “Rise”, which was only a promotion song for the Rio Olympic Games. Her last album was 2013’s Prism, with hit songs such as “Roar,” “Dark Horse,” “This Is How We Do" and “Unconditionally.”

Now many fans are hoping this will lead to her fourth album! (I know I certainly am!)

Katy’s twitter has been a blank slate for a while with no profile picture or cover photo. Since it was revealed she will perform on the Grammy’s she has updated her profile with a new look… literally.

In promotion for her new single, Katy dropped this new picture with the caption: “New life, who dis.”

Sporting a new hair color, many fans are wondering what her new music will entail…..

“Chained to the Rhythm” is said to be, what Katy called it on Twitter, a POPLITICS song. With lyrics such as “Are we crazy? / Living our lives through a lens,Trapped in our white picket fence / Like ornaments.” The song goes on to point out how comfortable we are “living in a bubble” where we “dance to the distortion.”

The lyric video featured a hamster being fed in a kitchen... odd.. but I'm sure she has an explanation...

This song got mixed reviews on social media. Many people liked it, and that the beat made them dance, but others thought it was not as strong for Katy, and had boring lyrics.

I find the hit upbeat, powerful, and fun!

KP4, or Perry’s fourth album, is rumored to be dropping in the summer. Us KatyCats can hope that a world tour follows!

With this hit and the lyrics of 2016’s “Rise”, one can only imagine what this new album will entail. I believe this “new life” Katy will deliver songs about power, politics, and inspiration, and I am so ready!

Her album was thought to have been released already, but with the past election Perry was said to have put it on hold to write song about the post-election world we are living in…. Her upcoming album was also said to have a song on it called “Crocodile Tears”, which is said to be about her feud with Taylor Swift.

When her Twitter account was hacked last May, an unreleased song, said to be called “Witness” was leaked, but was later taken down.

On the first day of its release, “Chained to the Rhythm” hit number 1 on iTunes in Brazil, and in the top 10 in the U.S.

The lyric video reached 1 million views within the first 12 hours!

The song features Skip Marley, Bob Marley’s grandson, and has us ‘turning it up, and keeping it on repeat!’

It’s been so long Katy, and we are so happy you are back! 2017 is saved!

“Chained to the Rhythm” encourages us all to live outside our bubble, bubble, and speak up!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
