Hillary For President!

Guys, guess what? It is that time again, the presidential election is upon us. Like most college kids, I am finally at an age where I can vote for the president; I know, it's so exciting! As a female, and as someone getting ready to enter the adult world, I feel somewhat honored to have this privilege. I am finally able to really make an effort and learn about candidates so that I can make an educated decision on who I feel would make the best president. There is just one slight problem, I know little to nothing about politics, but I do know two things; Katy Perry is my spirit animal and Orlando Bloom was the first man I ever loved. You may be thinking how do all of these things correlate...well in this upcoming election, Katy Perry has very openly used her platform to support Hillary Clinton.

When I say I know nothing about politics I am not lying, I took government in high school but spent more time watching Law and Order than actually learning about the government. Like most 20-year-olds, I get my information from Twitter or Facebook, which brings me back to Katy Perry. She has been in the spotlight lately for two things; supporting Hillary Clinton and having a new relationship with Orlando Bloom. This sparked my interest because if someone like Katy Perry is going out of her way to support Clinton, maybe I should take the time to research what she supports.

After doing research I found out why Katy Perry is so passionate about supporting her: she is fighting for really important causes that will help us all. I am not going to push my opinion on you or say you too should support Hillary Clinton; I am just going to say look into the candidates before choosing who you want to vote for. I totally understand following what other people think, but this is such an important topic. Katy Perry said it best "How many of you are going to be 18 next year, before November? Are you going to vote? Because you know you have the power, right?" Perry told her fans, according to Billboard. "Listen, you have so much power and this is going to be one of the most important elections in over a decade, "So much change can happen. Let's go Hillary!"

As a future Early Childhood Educator, I love that she is advocating for those little ones. She wants to make a difference in their life. I also really love that she is she is a huge supporter of female rights, this is why Katy Perry supports her strying to help with health care and all that goes into it. If you didn’t already know o much - DUH! I really do feel like she is choosing issues that affect a lot of people. She is also presenting them in ways that people like myself can understand. Again, I am not trying to force my opinion on you, I am just saying with a little time and research you too can find someone to support.

I am going to end with this: make your voice heard and vote for someone who you think is going to change America in a positive way. Become a productive member of society and use the right you have been given to vote! Also, go listen to a Katy Perry song, it will make your day!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
