Recently, Kathy Griffin posted a graphic image on her Twitter account. It was the now famous photo of her holding a bloody head, which people have depicted to be Donald Trump. This photo has caused a gigantic uproar in the media, and some have said that it has even ruined Griffin's career. She has since taken down the photo and has released an apology to the public, which has been poorly received. This event in the media has shown us that art censorship is alive and is an example of the government censoring what we see, and that's not a good thing.

The photo, while graphic, is still just a photo. I find it pathetic on how giant this has gotten, when hundreds of things that Trump has said have just been brushed under the rug. Even the graphic photos of Obama being lynched and murdered never blew up as much as this one image has. The image is art, regardless of how you view it. Hundreds of images depicting horrid acts are still art. The fact that Trumps family are now attacking Griffin for an art piece is truly saddening. Why is there such an issue with this image? I get that some people can't stand viewing gore or anything that isn't "PC", but we are supposed to live in a country that freedom of expression is a thing.

Some people are saying that it's wrong because Trump is currently our president, and that we shouldn't depict images of his death. Where were these people when Obama was president? We still have to remember that while he is President, he is still an A-List celebrity above all. If two celebrities were having this argument or did a art depection similar to this, would there be this much controversy? I honestly doubt that it would have been this big of an issue.

The man who calls out "special snowflakes" is whining like one because a comedian made fun of something. Comedians have crossed the line on many different occasions. Did Obama whine when people created death images of him? Did any other celebrity whine when people created death images of them? If they did, it did not create this much of an outcry.

The reason why this is an example of the government silencing freedom of expression is because they are trying to shut Ms.Griffin down. They are trying to get rid of these hateful images and news stories. This isn't the America we live in. With Trump doing numerous acts of calling out individuals on Twitter or saying hateful things, this one act is not as bad as everyone is making it out to be. Overall, the image shouldn't have caused this much uproar, and Trump should have just accepted it as something that occurred and left it at that.

Here's a video by The Tylt that shows examples of when actions like this one have been okay:

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
