On a new episode of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians," we get a look at Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West before their appearance at the 2019 Met Gala. Their conversation quickly turns into an argument after Kanye calls Kim's outfit "too sexy."
Kanye quickly follows it up by saying that his views have changed and he isn't the rapper that looks at girls like they need to show their bodies anymore.
He criticized her by saying that it affects his soul and spirit as a husband and a father of four kids. Kanye ended this argument by saying, "A corset is a form of underwear and it's hot. For who, though?"
This didn't sit well with Kim and she pointed out that he gave her confidence and sexiness when they first started dating and she isn't on the same journey he's on at this point. Her point was completely accurate considering how he threw away all her clothes when they started dating and he showed off her naked body in his "Bound 2" music video. He even called her "the sex icon of this generation."
While this argument seemed "absolutely ridiculous" according to Kim, it's a very important topic. Just because Kim and Kanye are married, Kanye should not be allowed to control Kim and her choice of clothes. Kim is her own person, and she is allowed to be confident in her body and her outfits.
This "sexiness" that is bothering Kanye's soul was created for his own purpose, and now he's trying to tear all of it down. The corset is sexy for Kim, and she's allowed to feel that way. Kanye is not entitled to take that away.
Whatever your opinion on Kim Kardashian is, this is about the misogyny and hypocrisy behind Kanye's criticism. Even though he's been making headlines for his change in attitude, Kanye is allowed to have his own religious beliefs. But, that doesn't mean Kim needs to have the same set of beliefs as him, especially since his beliefs have changed so drastically after they tied the knot back in 2014.
Just like he is allowed to have his own religious beliefs, Kim is allowed to dress however she wants and feel empowered. Kim deserves credit for being her own person. She has evolved and matured through the criticism of the media, and now her own husband.
Kanye needs to take a step back and remember that Kim is his wife, not a doll that he can dress up however he wants.
