When we first heard the name "Justin Bieber," we thought of the YouTube sensation who sang in a high-pitched voice. Then, he was discovered by agent Scooter Braun and mentored by Usher. Songs like "One Time" and "Baby" won girls' hearts around the world, no matter their age. Bieber was by far a celebrity and his movie, "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never" showed even his haters how great he was. It seemed every time the singer encountered his fans, he was genuine and appreciative of his fame.
So, what happened in the past five years? What has Bieber experienced that would drive him to cancel meet-and-greets with fans via Instagram and act like a diva on stage at his own concerts?
It would make sense that the 22-year-old pop star is tired of the limelight. The extensive limelight. Practically everyone in the world knows who Justin Bieber is and would do anything they could for a picture. The kid probably never gets a break.
Justin Bieber now has a lack of regard for what the public thinks of him, which makes sense. Paparazzi follow him every single place he goes, a thought most of us couldn't even imagine. Fans want Bieber to live up to their expectations, but he can't be one certain way all the time. A fact he mentioned on an Instagram post in early May.
Seems like an outrage, a pretentious singer not appreciating his fans or who has helped him attain his goals. There's two sides to every situation. Should Bieber be more humble or should fans start treating him with more respect?
Another recent video of Justin Bieber involving a fan can be found trending on any social media. In the video, girls scream in anticipation when his car pulls up. He rolls down the window and is hit in the face with a present (claimed to be the Argentinian flag) from one of the fans. Bieber mouths "Why would you throw that?" and throws the gift out the window.
Of course, the public was outraged by this incident.
Who's at fault? The disrespectful fan or the rude, egotistical singer? We weren't there; we'll probably never know. But one thing is for sure, Justin Bieber should have (and needs) a break from the media. It's the best thing for him and all of us.
If his "stress" leads to multiple temper tantrums at concerts and depression, maybe he should step back from the fame. The media would also need to stop turning everything he says into a tabloid headline.
Again in May 2016, Bieber posted a photo with a caption that "compared himself to God" as Daily Mail claimed.
After the accusation, Bieber said he was only referencing how important it is to rest and how God gave us that ability. Very true. Again, there are two sides to everything.
But with fame comes a balancing act. And if a break is needed, you should take advantage. It could benefit everyone in the long run.
