Justin Bieber is back and better than ever. Unless you've been living under a rock for the past four months, you know he's everywhere. I get into my car without listening to "Love Yourself," "What Do You Mean," or "Sorry" at least four times.
His album "Purpose" came out mid-November and the entire world is still going crazy over it. I've been a Bieber fan since "One Time" first came out in 2009, but his fan-base has slowly started to change. His concerts used to consist of tween girls in tow with a parent (obviously) and a couple best friends, but now Bieber Fever is hitting everyone.
He's caught parents, grandparents and even males. Guys are giving props to Bieber and actually listening to his music, instead of ripping him apart for his hairstyle and voice. He's become a worldwide sensation and I don't think he's planning on stopping anytime soon.
Recently, he did an interview with The Bert Show. The interview is two parts (extra Biebs!) and if you didn't love him already, you will soon. Take a look if you haven't seen it yet, but in the interview, he talks about his love life (Selena), rumors that have been swirling around, his gold tooth, and growing up in the music industry. In case you're too lazy to watch it yourself, here a few excerpts that will make you buy tickets for his #Purpose tour.
Part 1:
On giving his younger self advice:
Q: "Alright let's get deep for a second, 21-year-old Justin is giving 15-year-old Justin advice on what to expect from the industry and what to expect from life...so going through what you've gone through, what do you say to that dude now?"
A: "I would just say just listen to the people who care about you. I was so innocent and young and I trusted everybody. With being young and innocent it's not necessarily the best thing because people take advantage of vulnerability, so I just think I was in a place of just trusting everyone and thinking that everyone was on my side until eventually I got burned. It's just tough, after a while I started putting up walls and boundaries. For a while, I kind of shut everybody out and I kind of lost my own personality and lost my charisma. I just didn't trust anyone, finally, I was like I'm not going to let them win, I'm going to give them some of me and learn how to put up a wall without closing myself off completely."
On making mistakes and being in the spotlight:
Q: 'I've seen artists in their 40s saying stuff like, 'look this comes with celebrity, he should know,' but those 40-year-olds never had to live the kind of social media spotlight that you have to deal with".
A: "But not even that, this is my life in general. They don't have people following them and screaming every day for them. They never had a public image that was 'perfect.' When I started they [media] portrayed me as being this perfect kid that no one can ever hold up to and so I had all this pressure being this guy, for a while I was just like that's not me. I'm not perfect. I have struggles. I have problems. People can say, 'Well, what problems do you have? You're a celebrity, you have millions of dollars, you drive in a Ferrari every day,' but let me tell you, once you get somewhere you're going to say, 'I got this, now what's next?'"
Part 2:
On women and what he's learned about the opposite sex in 2015:
Q: "2015, what did you learn about women in 2015?'
A: "I just learned that they're so indecisive. They don't know what they want, especially with me. It's like I tell them upfront I travel all the time and I can't be consistent with you all the time. Some of them can handle it and some of them can't.
On his turn-around moment and how he went from bad-boy to Bieber again:
Q: "You know how you were talking about how you almost get into the routine of things, so it's like what's next? I'm assuming the first time you go on stage in front of 20,000 people it's intoxicating, right? If you're doing it every single night, is there ever a time where it's like, 'OK, I've been here, I've done this. There are 20,000 screaming girls again tonight and I feel like I've done this a million times."'
A: "There was. I think with where I'm at now, the reason why I'm here is because I'm able now to appreciate it in a different way; like I said before, I'm not going to go into details of what I was doing during that time and where I was at, but I was pretty lost. I woke up one morning and I felt like God was telling me something and not in a super religious way, but I just felt like a voice and I was just like you know what? I'm going to change my life around."
On (the only thing everyone wants to know about) Selena Gomez:
Q: *Rumor from a tabloid* "Is Selena Gomez fighting back at Justin Bieber with her latest Instagram picture?"
A: "I haven't seen it. Can I see it? I want to see that. What is she trying to do to my heart right now? I'm playing, though. She loves me. I love her too always. *Looks at Instagram picture* Who's this guy? Who's this guy? He's a joke. This guy's a chump. I'm kidding. No, I guess he's pretty handsome actually. I can't even lie. I'd do him for sure (OMG). Honestly dude, I just want her to be happy. I love her. We're friends still. We were on and off for years and then we left on good terms. I think we just needed time to grow for ourselves. We were like maybe we'll come back together in the future, and then it ended up being like so long and we just grew apart. We're not the same people anymore. We'll hang out. I'll see her every now and then. We'll talk and that's pretty much it.
There it is. There are tons more juicy details about the busy life of the Biebs in those videos that I couldn't catch because I was too busy staring at his beautiful face. You can watch those videos during commercials of "The Bachelor"; it's balance, right? I know I'll be seeing Justin very soon for his Purpose tour.
