I've had Bieber Fever for quite some time now. Ever since the first heavenly moment that "Baby" graced my ears back in 2010, I've been hooked. Even through Justin's rough patches and weird phases, I've stood up for him. As a kid, he was adorable enough to make any tween fall in love, but now he's gotten surprisingly hot and his music has definitely followed suit. He's basically in his prime right now, so what better time to plan and daydream about the moment you meet him and inevitably fall in love and get married (because duh, that would happen)?
Well, as of recently you better put that fantasy on hold. Justin has announced on his Instagram that he will not be meeting or taking pictures with fans anymore. This is not a drill and this is not a joke. Our country is now in a state of emergency. It first started out on March 22 when Justin posted that he would no longer be doing meet and greets with fans because he claims it is emotionally draining. I can see where he is coming from with this and I'm sure it is tiring to meet with so many people at once, but I personally think he could just lessen the amount of meet and greets he does or only do them on special occasions instead of outright banning them. However, this post was forgivable and one that I thought I could let slide.
After I started planning crazy ways to find Justin and "conveniently bump into him" on the street (kidding, but really), he dropped another bomb on the world. On May 10, Justin announced that he will also no longer be taking pictures with fans. This one made me upset because it probably takes about 52 seconds to pose for one picture. I understand why he sees it as superficial sometimes, but he has to keep in mind that he is a famous person and not every single person he has approached has ever been in contact with him before. It may feel redundant and never ending but he has the power to make or break a person's day by simply standing and smiling.
While pictures are not everything, the fact that he shot down meet and greets and announced he will no longer be taking pictures with fans seems a little ungrateful to his fans to me. These are the people who have stuck by him and if it was not for his fans, he would have never gotten to where he is today. I still love Justin and I'll never stop Beliebing, but I'm just hoping he'll see the error in his ways and turn this mindset around.
