Dear Justin,
For starters, I find it highly unlikely you will ever see this letter to you. I mean, I imagine the only way you'd ever see this if you or someone on your team found this by Googling you, and as a celebrity I can imagine something you never want to do is Google yourself. But, maybe if someone wanted to prank you and emailed you the link to this... hi.
You should know, I am a fan. Back in middle school and early high school I considered myself a huge Belieber. I bought all your songs, wore t-shirts with your face on them, watched your movies, read your mom's book, posed with a cardboard cutout of you at my ninth grade homecoming, and I even once did a whole Sunday School lesson at church about why you should judge people on the good they do and not focus on the bad - using you as my main example. I said all that to say this: I was a huge fan of you.
Now, I just consider myself a regular fan. I like some of your music, but I no longer scream when I hear your name. I don't constantly stalk your Twitter or YouTube anymore. I no longer get butterflies whenever I see a picture of you. Now, I just realized you are just a regular person living their not-so-ordinary life.
Recently, I saw a video while scrolling through Twitter that actually appalled me and made me look at you in a whole different light. For those of you who don't want to watch the video, here's your recap: In the video, a girl was talking to some friends and you can see Justin Bieber is in the background at what looks like some kind of clothing store. The girl turns to Justin and goes, "Can I have a hug?" Without even taking a second to think about it, Justin immediately goes "No" and walks away from her. Though the video I linked isn't the full version, in the full version Justin walks back to her. Immediately, the majority would be made to believe "aww he was just joking, he came back to hug her." But instead, Justin walks right past her to go look at other clothes. Recap over. As a fan, I only have a few words on Justin after seeing this video: What a jerk.
Of course, I don't know the full story of this video. Maybe this girl in the video had yelled some sort of insult at him before turning the camera on, I don't know, but the video doesn't look good.

I like to consider myself a huge advocate for mental health and doing things that better yourself, but even I can see that this is ridiculous. It would be one thing if these were people who didn't really know him and he had to go meet random strangers - but these are the people who buy every song he releases, spend thousands of dollars to get to see him, hang out with him for thirty seconds, snap a picture, and leave. These people buy his merchandise, they wait for his every tweet, they make posters for his concerts, these are his fans. Well no, they aren't just his fans - these are his beliebers. They are the people that have gotten him where he is today. Of course his talent and smoothness on stage has definitely helped, he would be nowhere without these people: the people I once considered myself to be a part of.
Though I am not a celebrity, I understand the lifestyle that he lives can be stressful. He always has someone he has to please, and not just one someone, like millions of someones - but out of all the stressful things in his life why did he decide meeting the people who got him where he is was the thing he needed to cut out? I think as a celebrity, getting the chance to meet the people who pay for everything you do, devote themselves to your work, love your passions and do things just because of you would be one of the highlights. In fact, that's how I thought Justin felt too. There were times when he would make his chauffeurs stop just to go run to fans who were crying, when he played Just Dance with fans, or surprising fans in their house, when he invited a fan to the Billboard awards as his guest since he couldn't make her prom, and who can forget that time he surprised this adorable little girl on Jimmy Kimmel? Justin obviously cares about his fans, so why did he stop meeting them?
Justin if you for some reason found this - I did not write this article to bash you or belittle you. Honestly, I'm just confused. The people that you are cutting out love you, support you, and will still stick around even though you are being a huge jerk to them... You may want to reconsider your actions.
Sincerely,
A fan
