Well we have it, folks! We officially have some ideas towards what the highly anticipated "Justice League" movie will be looking like when it hits theaters in 2017. DC fans were treated to an image and trailer that were released at this year's San Diego Comic-Con and boy does "Justice League" look like it is going to be one hell of a movie. We were introduced to some of our favorite DC comic heroes finally hitting the big screen while getting a glimpse into the plot of the upcoming movie.
The Characters... So Far
This was one of the coolest things about the trailer and image we got to see as we now know what our heroes will be looking like for "Justice League" and how they will seemingly interact with one another at first. The trailer showed us clips of Bruce Wayne/Batman embarking on the quest he set for himself and Wonder Woman/Diana at the end of "Batman V Superman." Batman has had a warning of enemies coming to destroy their way of life, so he has a mission to find these other meta-humans that were introduced to us in "Batman V Superman." These meta-humans being Barry Allen/The Flash, Arthur Curry/Aquaman and Victor Stone/Cyborg.
I do not want to spoil too much of the excitement for those that have not watched the trailer yet, but let's just say that Aquaman was not as willing to help Batman and Wonder Woman as much as they thought he would be. Then we have The Flash being as giddy as a school kid to be getting the chance to work with Batman. We also see Cyborg telling Batman that he had heard the stories of him but did not believe them. There is also a funny moment with Bruce and Diana interacting with each other. This is why this trailer was such a cool moment for DC fans as we finally get a taste of how our favorite heroes will be interacting with each other in live-action.
Now, I will spoil the fact that there is no Superman in the trailer, but do not be scared as by the image that was also released at Comic-Con that Superman will definitely be in the movie in some way or form. I believe that since at the end of "Batman V Superman" it is hinted that Superman is still alive by the floating dirt on his casket that Superman will appear in "Justice League" in two possible ways.
Superman will either appear in full strength at some point in the middle or late part of the film and help the rest of our heroes fight the enemy that has come to Earth. If this does not happen then Superman might not appear physically in the film but will be mentioned and referred to as a major plot point and then make his physical appearance in the "Justice League" sequel which will be released in a couple of years.
I believe Superman will make a full and triumphant return in "Justice League" as there is no way the first live-action adaptation of DC's famous Justice League will be without Superman.
Then there is the apparent fact that one of the founding members of the Justice League from the comics will be left out of the movie adaptation as of now. This hero I am speaking of is the Green Lantern. Now, from all that we know so far, the Green Lantern will not be appearing in the "Justice League" movie. This might change as time goes on and more images and trailers get released or nothing may change and he just does not appear. DC does have a Green Lantern movie planned for in a couple of years, though, so Green Lantern will become a part of the DC Extended Universe.
My hope for how Green Lantern is introduced into the cinematic universe though is through a complete surprise appearance in "Justice League." What I mean by this is that DC gives us no hints whatsoever about Green Lantern being in the movie at all. We as fans will assume that he is not in the movie, and we will go see the movie with no expectation of him being there. Then in the final fight when it looks like nothing is going right for our heroes... boom! The Green Lantern shows up to help and kicks some a**. This would blow every single person's' mind that is watching the movie and make for an epic cameo and a superb way to introduce the character to the movie universe.
Verdict... So Far
"Justice League" looks like a solid and awesome movie so far from just the less than two-minute trailer we got to see so far. This gives me hope that Zack Snyder, director of "Batman V Superman" and "Justice League," has learned from some of his mistakes from "Batman V Superman" and will make "Justice League" the movie that all of us DC fans have been waiting for.
P.S. Ezra Miller is going to be a great Flash, I promise.
