After last week’s tragedy at Stoneman Douglas High School, I have really begun to be extra thankful for what I have. Everyday people run around and get too caught up in pointless drama to realize how lucky they really are to be alive. On February 14th, seventeen innocent children and teachers went to school for a normal day of school and will very sadly never return to their loved ones. It is a tragedy that these innocent people are no longer with us.
I know it is very easy to get caught up in school work, extracurricular activities, and drama with friends but each and every one of us is lucky to be here, alive, and healthy. For those people who have lost a loved one this past week, you are in our thoughts and prayers and we are all here for you.
For everyone else, just take a moment and be thankful for what you have and be the absolute best person you can be in honor of the seventeen-innocent people that we have recently lost.
Instead of complaining about the amount of work you have, be thankful that you attend such an amazing school and have an opportunity to further your education.
Instead of complaining that the food in the dining hall is gross, be thankful you have the opportunity to eat meals with your friends and people who make you happy.
And instead of complaining that you are annoyed with one of your friends, realize how lucky you are to have a group of friends who will always be there to support you.
Thank you to all of my friends and family members who are always there for me. You mean the world to me and I am so thankful to have you in my life.
