Just Say Amen

Stand and know you're not forsaken. Just say Amen.

Just Say Amen
Ally Mishell Smith

When I was in high school, I was a part of my church's student choir. We would spend all year preparing for our summer music/mission tour. The choir has traveled all over the country serving and proclaiming the Word of God through music and mission projects. It's very tiring, very humbling and just all around life-changing. I love to think back to all the memories from the tour, and one memory in particular sticks out.

Our student ensemble sang a song called "Say Amen" by Finding Favour. I can remember sitting in the choir loft, hearing them sing it for the first time with tears in my eyes. The song has such a powerful message that so many people need to hear. It seems like the song can relate to any person and any situation.

When I was driving to work a few days ago, the song randomly came up and started play and brought me to tears. God knew I needed to hear the song.

This life is a journey we walk by faith, and there will always be the mountains in our way. But right here in this moment, may our strength be renewed. As we recall what God has done and how we've seen Him move.
If there's anybody here who's found Him faithful, Anybody here who knows He's able,Say Amen! If there's anybody here who's seen His power, Anybody here brought through the fire, Say Amen! Anybody here found joy in the middle of sorrowJust Say AMEN!
Sometimes through the darkness, it's hard to see, so just be brave and follow where He leads. Greater is the one who's in us, than he who's in the world, so, child of God, remember, the battle is the Lord's!
If there's anybody here who's found Him faithful, Anybody here who knows He's able, say Amen! If there's anybody here who's seen His power, Anybody here brought through the fire, say Amen! Anybody here found joy in the middle of sorrow, peace in the storm, hope for tomorrow, and seen it time and time again, then just Say AMEN!
Even in the valley of the shadow when you feel alone in the unknown, Just say Amen, Just say Amen. Even when the storms are raging, Stand and know your not forsaken, Just say Amen, Just say Amen. Is there anybody here, Tell me is there anybody here, come on and Say Amen!

I pray that you know He is greater than any battle struggle that you're going through. Know that you're not alone. Just say Amen.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
