These are the songs I've been digging the past month.

Dancing Shoes- Cherub

I discovered this electro-indie duo last Fall with their single "Doses and Mimosas", and fell in love with them when I saw them live in the Spring. Their latest release, "Dancing Shoes" instantly became one of my favorited by them. A true bop.

Girls Like You- Maroon 5

Maroon 5. Need I say more? Since "Sunday Morning" and "She Will Be Loved", I've loved this group. Unpopular opinion: I'm not the biggest Cardi B fan, but I do like her feature on this song.

Sunflower Seeds- Bryce Vine

Sunflower seeds is a song from 2016, shown to me by my 14 year old brother. As soon as I heard the opening chorus, I was hooked. It's really just a feel good rap jam, and Vine's voice is so soothing.

Funeral- Lukas Graham

Funeral, another song from 2016 (a little late to the game with these last two) is a song my brother and sister have been playing around the house for about a year, and I finally hopped on the family band wagon. This pop/soul band gives you definite windows-down-wolume-up-screaming-the-lyrics vibes.

The Mountain- Dierks Bently

While this isn't my favorite song of this playlist, I can't resist Dierks Bently. In this song and his other recent single, "Woman, Amen" he seems to be experimenting with a new sound, and I'm excited to delve into his entire new album.

Reason To Drink- Cole Swindell

Another long-time favorite: Cole Swindell. This song honestly just makes me smile. Cole just makes you feel good. Check it out.

Back To You- Selena Gomez

"Took you like a shot, thought I could chase you with a cold evening, let a couple years water down how I'm feeling about you."

"I've got to convince myself I don't want it even though I do."

"You could break my heart in two, but when it heals it beats for you."

Just a couple of the lyrics that had me yelling "YESSSS girl" back at the radio the first time I heard this new Selena song.

Drunk Me- Mitchell Tenpenny

Mitchell Tenpenny is sn artist that's new to me, but this song has me quickly infatuated with him. The chorus says, "'Baby can you come over?' I always find those words at the bottom of a hundred proof," and I think that's something we've all felt.

Dig Your Roots- Florida Georgia Line

I've always had mixed feelings about Florida Georgia Line. Some of their songs I find myself singing along to, and some I find myself skipping every time, but this one I really like. It's just a beat you can jam and sing along to.

Dan + Shay- Dan + Shay

Previewed in my last playlist article, Dan + Shay's self titled album did nothing less than blow me away. I can't get enough of it. I would list my favorite songs, but I can't even pick. Please do yourself a favor and check it out.

These Days- Rudimental

Rounding out my June 2018 playlist is "These Days". I've been in love with Macklemore since middle school, so anything his name is on is worth listening to (for me). I had never heard of rudimental before my little brother showed me this song, but I really like their sound.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
