As the end of the semester is upon us, now is the time where many students will go to a certain website to let out their feelings of their professors, both liked and disliked? And that website you may ask? Well, it's ratemyprofessors.com. I have never left a review on the site, but now I'm starting to think I should. I decided to go through it to see what my professors next semester are like, as well as falling down a rabbit hole and looking at other professors I've never heard of. But in doing so, I decided to make a list of some of the best reviewed professors on Rate My Professor.

Best #10: Marygrace Paden

I've never had this professor but she sounds like a tough, but fair, grader, yet there when you need her.

Best #9: Samantha Emswiler

I took Professor Emswiler if you're looking for a relaxed environment, not a lot of homework (except the occasional article to read or video to watch to discuss in class), and LOTS of dark humor, Samantha Emswiler is your girl.

Best #8: Chick Belville

The last review is from 2010, so it's more likely than not that Professor Belville no longer teaches at John Tyler, but based on the reviews they sound like a great professor and even greater person.

Best #7: John Kirn

Best #6: Joanne Horton

I have never had professor Horton before since I took public speaking with someone else. But, she is my advisor and I can definitely say she is extremely helpful. A lot of my friends say their advisors are not helpful at all and Mrs. Horton has been extremely beneficial to me and I look forward to actually having 2 classes with her next semester.

Best #5: Steve Carlisle

Nothing really negative about Professor Carlisle. I've never taken him, so I can't say anything personal, but almost all the reviews seemed to be positive.

Best #4: Amanda Yanovitch

Professor Yanovitch has 0 bad reviews and sounds like someone who will really help you if you aren't doing so well in the English department!

Best #3: Mikell Brown

All positive reviews for Professor Brown. If you have to take any kind of art for your major, this professor is definitely one to look into.

Best #2: Lindsey Stoneking

I've taken Stoneking as well and she seriously is amazing. A lot of professors would not care if you pass, fail, or barely make it out alive - but Professor Stoneking will go jump through hoops to make sure you pass her class, a real diamond in the rough.

#1: Roselyne Petit

With an overall rating of 5.0 and no negative reviews, Roselyne Petit tops the list of best JTCC professors.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
