Why Jojo Is The Best Bachelorette To Date

Why I believe the down-to-earth brunette from Texas will be/is the best bachelorette.

Almost every Monday night, girls sit around with their girlfriends and a glass of wine to watch "The Bachelorette," which, in my humble opinion, is one of the best reality shows to date. However, when ABC announced that JoJo was going to be the next bachelorette, it spiked my interest, as I'm sure it did many others, to watch men compete for her heart. Here are my reasons why I believe JoJo is the best bachelorette the show has ever had.

  • Your heart broke with hers: When JoJo was blindsided by her ex’s note at the hometown dates, you couldn’t help but feel her pain when you saw the emotion on her face. When Ben crushed her and left her for Lauren B. (even though they are a cute couple), my heart broke for her because you could just tell how much she really did love Ben. I’m positive I’m not the only one who felt for her.
  • She’s down-to-earth: JoJo is the kind of girl that you can imagine yourself being friends with, one to go shopping and have brunch with. She’s the kind of girl who seems to be very relatable and says what’s on her mind, which makes you like her that much more.
  • JoJo is a Texas girl: Texas happens to be one of the best states with the best-bred girls. Texas women have class, can keep up with the best of them, and have the right amount of sass, all attributes JoJo showcases.
  • She’s a class act: JoJo was never one to lose her cool or composure when she had to compete with other girls for Ben’s heart. She always said it like it was, and because of this, it’s hard to believe that she’d be the one stirring up drama on her season of "The Bachelorette" (*cough* Kaitlyn). My bet is that it’s going to be the guys who serve the most drama this season.
  • She has a thing for unicorns: For her first impression, she wore a unicorn mask/head; if that doesn’t show that she’s got a great sense of humor, I’m not sure what does. She’s someone who can make fun herself, which is a great characteristic to have.
  • She’s close to her family: JoJo isn’t the first bachelorette to be close to her family, but it is one thing that makes you love her that much more. When you saw how overprotective her brothers were and how it put her in a tough situation, you couldn’t help but sympathize for the girl.
  • She’s drop-dead gorgeous: Of course ABC isn’t going to star unattractive contestants and bachelors/bachelorettes. And sure, other bachelorettes have been attractive women, but JoJo’s personality along with her looks makes her that much more attractive.

Overall, I hope that JoJo is ultimately able to find her “unicorn,” and I believe that her season is going to be one that the viewers feel more of a connection with. They'll invest in it more because of the fact that JoJo is a relatable bachelorette. You can’t help but just want the best for her after all we’ve seen her go through in the past year.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
