After bachelor Ben Higgins made his (right, in my opinion) decision and proposed to one of the many blonde Laurens, Chris Harrison announced the next bachelorette. While many people speculated that it would be Caila, the second runner-up, Chris Harrison threw a twist our way.
Our Season 12 bachelorette is... oJo Fletcher!
We all remember JoJo from her fun personality and amazing wardrobe. The runner-up is usually not the next bachelor or bachelorette, but I am so thrilled with this mix-up!
To celebrate JoJo's search for the right man, I present you with 12 reasons why the Season 12 bachelorette is going to be one of the best.
1. Her first impression was unforgettable.
JoJo was the one wearing the unicorn mask! I totally forgot until I started writing this! Are you kidding me?! JoJo just gained 10 respect points.
2. She's "passionate."
When Ben went on "Ellen" early into the season, Ellen held up photos of some of the women on the show and had Ben describe them in one word. While Amanda got "tender," and Lauren got "kind," JoJo's word was "passionate."
3. She had fun on the show.
JoJo isn't some uptight, bland contestant like some of the others. (Cough, cough, Becca.) She made sure she made the most of every date and enjoyed her time on the show.
4. She didn't let the competition get to her.
Nothing bothers me more than the girls who get overly jealous. Like, why did you even go on "The Bachelor?!" JoJo wasn't one of those girls. She didn't get anxious about the competition until the last episode, when she found out that Ben loved her and Lauren (which was totally justified). Instead, she just had fun on the dates and focused on her relationship with Ben.
5. Her reactions during the pig-feeding date were on point.
Ben, why did you think this was a good idea for a date? Nobody had fun! What were you thinking?! Also, are JoJo and pigs equivalent to Kaitlyn and birds? Is there going to be an escape room date full of hungry pigs? Get on it, producers!
6. She handled the drama with her ex with class.
But it's "Too Little, Too Late," Chad. (Yes, I just made a JoJo joke.)
7. We get to see her mom again.
Is she casually drinking directly from a champagne bottle on the night she's meeting her daughter's potential fiancé? Goals.
Bonus: Look at her creepily watching them end their date. Are you kidding me?! JoJo's mom is me in 30 years.
8. And, her brothers.
Her brothers weren't exactly accepting of Ben during JoJo's hometown date because they're skeptical of the concept of "The Bachelor" in general. How will they feel about their sister being the next bachelorette?!
9. She's a good friend.
JoJo became the house therapist on multiple occasions. Why did everyone go to JoJo with their problems? She's clearly a great listener. I'm excited to see someone with a good head on her shoulders as the bachelorette rather than watching insecure Caila do it. (No shade, Caila. I still would have watched your season.)
10. She was so classy on the "After the Final Rose" special.
She wasn't even awkward with Ben! She handled everything with so much dignity even though she had more than enough reason to rip his head off Nick-style (with Andi, not Kaitlyn). Also, that dress!
11. The dress might return.
How did Ben not immediately get down on one knee right then and there?
12. Lastly, let's not forget this iconic Bachelor moment.
#NeverForget.
