You see the articles all over Facebook every week. You read them and relate to them so you share them. Your friends and family all share them. You think "how amazing is it that this article is all over the internet?" Now think, that could be your article!

Whether you're a writing or journalism major or you have a passion for science, Odyssey is an excellent way to get your opinion out there! We are a community of college students sharing our experiences, our opinions, and our view on the world's current events globally. With over 1,000 communities and over 12,000 content creators, Odyssey is reaching new heights and we want you on board!

When I started my adventure with Odyssey, I was in the middle of my first year of college and, much like the rest of the people my age, just trying to find my place. Although I have always had a passion for writing, my true passion has always been science, which has lead me to pursue a biology major and a chemistry minor. So why would I, a pre-medical student, want to be a part of Odyssey? I have always had lots of opinions and I've never been afraid to share them. After seeing a friend's article on Facebook, I said "I should publish my work nationally."

After applying for Odyssey, I discovered a community at my college had not been formed yet. I was a little tentative at first; could I really found my own community? I'm so glad I decided the answer was yes because I couldn't be happier sharing my views with the world. I am now the Editor-In-Chief of a growing community. Although there are lots of struggles in growing a new community, it has been an incredibly rewarding opportunity. Not only has it given me a sense of place and community, but it's shown me that I can be a leader.

Aside from internal reward, Odyssey offers many other benefits. Not only does it look excellent on a job or grad school application, it opens a world of connections and potential job opportunities. You also experience mentoring from established journalists with lots of experience. Alongside that, there are potential monetary rewards. With an incentive program, the more successful your piece is, the more money you can earn!

If you are a college student with lots of opinions, I urge you to look into joining your local Odyssey community. If there isn't one at your school yet, don't be afraid to start something new! If you're interested, you can request an invite to join online.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
