A College Senior's Final First Week Thoughts As Told By Joe Goldberg

Hello there. Who are you? Based on the course load, spring semester. Your first week of classes end early, yet fill me with stress. You have different sides to you. I want to experience all of those sides. You like to make the seniors feel nostalgic, reminding us all that this blissfully strained existence on a college campus is quickly coming to an end. Do you want to help me or hurt me? I have to know. Good thing I have all semester to figure you out. Your mediocre meals and vending machine Starbucks triple-shots fuel my motivation. Yet your thirsty Thursdays allow me to experience a short-lived sense of ferocious freedom. Regardless of how hungover I will be Friday morning, I still have to attend class. It's like you have me on a leash. I guess I'll have to deal with it for now. I'll see you in the morning, You.

Looking at how busy your last semester schedule is like...

and then proceeding to treat yourself as a reward...

to then realize that you don't have the money to treat yourself...

but continue to do it anyway.

Trying to motivate yourself to stay in your classes and graduate by saying...

then realizing that after this semester, college is over.

Starting off your thirsty Thursday at 7 pm like...

and then wondering why your friend looks like this by 11 pm.

How you're feeling when you go to bed that night with the spinnies.

Waking up on Friday morning at 10 am like...

and rushing to your class that starts at 10:10.

How you sit in the back of the classroom pretending like you're not hungover...

and your internal rage when your teacher calls you out on it.

Trying to find your future knowing you're graduating in a few months.

Finally realizing that its your very last semester so you have to make it the best one yet.

So with all that's said and done, you very well might be the best thing to ever happen to me. I am infatuated with you. I am obsessed with you. I gotta soak you up before you slip through the cracks of my fingers. Because soon, love, you will be in the past.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
