It's Winter. Are You Bored Yet?

With semester coming to a close, going home sounds wonderful. Family, friends from high school, going back to your favorite coffee shop: it all sounds so perfect. UNLESS YOU LIVE IN NORTHWEST INDIANA, WHERE IT SNOWS AT LEAST 12 INCHES IN THE FIRST TWO DAYS OF A FOUR DAY BLIZZARD. Sadly, that is where I live. But while cooped up in this storm, I've been thinking about how I could entertain myself. So, if you live in a snowy area, or are just bored, here are some things that you could do!

1.) It's time to start a blog

I'm almost positive I started my Tumblr in a blizzard a few years back. Whether it's posting original works or browsing the latest memes and funky catch phrases, Tumblr is one of my favorite pass times. It's easy to get lost in the web and laugh.

2.) Binge watch your heart out

Recently I have been binge watching shows left and right. Not new ones all the time, because I can't find anything that makes me interested (PLEASE GIVE SUGGESTIONS). But Criminal Minds, has had my attention for the last few months. This show has a healthy 11 seasons on Netflix and ranges from 19 to 23 episodes, talk about BINGEING YOUR LIFE AWAY. Or I watch Lie to Me, definitely would recommend this show to everyone. It's about reading people's faces and seeing if they're lying. It has three seasons and roughly 13 episodes in each.

3.) SLEDDING

Ahh, yes. Wear a coat and make yourself comfortable as you go 10+ mph down a hill and laugh your heart out. The snow can get packed enough to feel hard so falling on it may hurt, just be sure to be careful.

4.) Browse the internet

Relevant to blogging, but with this you can shop on Amazon or thisiswhyimbroke.com. They both offer tremendous discounts on funky things that could make someone laugh or cringe -- your choice.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
