Passover is one of my favorite holidays. Every Jew has had serious memories of sitting at the Seder table with family or watching fun Passover movies. Here are some of my favorite things about Passover.
1. "The Prince of Egypt".
This movie is amazing. If you are Jewish and haven't watched this movie at least once in Hebrew school, you're not remembering correctly. Sure, the biblical history isn't all there, but it has one hell of a soundtrack!
2. Finding the Afikomen.
I used to love finding the Afikomen! For all you non-Jews, this is when we wrap a piece of matzah up in a napkin and hide it. Then all of the kids go and look for the piece of Matzah. It's a lot of fun especially if the person hiding it is really good at hiding the Afikomen in a secretive spot.
3. A Rugrats Passover.
I remember this movie so vividly as a child. It is also extremely biblically inaccurate, but the telling of this story is absolutely adorable.
4. Matzah pizza.
This is the night of the week of Passover you've been waiting for. The night your mom (or dad) makes Matzah pizza!
5. The Story.
The story of Passover in retrospect is bad ass! Pharaoh wouldn't let the Jews out of slavery so God used Moses to smite the Pharaoh. And Egypt was essentially f***ed with the 10 plagues God cast on Egypt (blood, frogs, lice, flies, cattle plague, boils, hail, locusts, darkness, slaying of the first born).
6. Chocolate-covered Matzah.
Duh, that's a no-brainer.
7. The four questions.
I know, guys, this is a weird one but the four questions are fun to chant, don't lie to yourself.
8. The. Food.
Obviously, I mean if it's a Jewish holiday, there's gonna be good Jewish food. I'm talking kugel, brisket, macaroons, etc.
