This week we will be taking a break from the interviews with students about what makes Pfeiffer unique. Instead I will list the top 12 things that myself and other Pfeiffer students are thinking now that it's October.

1. Pumpkin Spice Latte's and or anything pumpkin spice.

Personally I am not a fan of Pumpkin spice, but a lot of my friends have been excited about pumpkin spice latte's. And I've also noticed that this year they have been trying to make everything pumpkin spice, even Oreo cookies. Now that is a step to far!

2. The joy of large bulky sweaters.

Earlier today I was having a conversation with one of my friends, we were discussing how much we loved fall and the crispness in the air. But then we also shared our enjoyment of large sweaters on these days. Something about a sweater on a cool day always seems to make the day better.

3. The changing of the leaves to such beautiful colors.

As I drove home today for fall break there is one part of the drive that is absolutely beautiful all year long, but today as the leaves have begun to change, it was even more beautiful.

4. How is it already October?

As a college student it is so hard to believe that it is already October, that we are already halfway through the semester. But October is here whether we like it or not.

5. Halloween is almost here!

Although my favorite holiday is Christmas, I do have a love for Halloween. The trunk or treat held at Pfeiffer is fun and all of the older Halloween movies are amazing. Particularly The nightmare before Christmas or any Tim Burton film.

6. Futbol games at Pfeiffer, yes futbol, not football.

At Pfeiffer, soccer is one of the most popular sport in the fall especially since we don't have football at Pfeiffer. But nothing is better than the nights spent supporting our teams as they battle it out on the field.

7. Homecoming! Oh the places you'll go!

October 1st-2nd at Pfeiffer was homecoming, the theme for this year was Oh the places you'll go. The entire week leading up to this main event were amazing, particularly the lip sync. Seeing all of the alumni on campus, hearing their stories was amazing and the campus felt so alive!

8. A crisp fall day!

For the month of September at Pfeiffer one of the bulletin boards in Stokes Student Center was covered in post-it notes, with the only instructions being 'Take What You Need'. One of the post-its said a Crisp Fall Day. Needless to say I took this one in hopes that I soon would not be sweating up a storm every-time I walked out of my residence hall.

9. The Terrifying thing called Midterms.

With Fall and all things October comes Midterms in college, some classes have midterm exams, others do not. Ether way the work load gets worse and it becomes a reminder that we are half way to finals.

10. Fall Break!

But no worries as it is the time of Fall break, a time to go home relax and see your family! Not to mention getting to see your pets, which lets be honest is probably the best thing ever. Or in some cases, much like my own, spent doing work and catching up on work as well.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
