It's LGBT, not LGBTQA+NL...

Everyone is entitled to their own freedom or right to expression, but some people take it too far

Now, let me start off by saying that I have no personal hatred against the LGBT community. I myself am gay, and thus a part of this community. I am in no way trying to hinder any social justice issues, deprive people of their equal rights, or try and disrespect anybody's personal lifestyle choices. But enough is enough.

For too long, I have sat idly by, watching people try and pass off "pansexuality" or "gender fluid" or "non-gender binary" as anything more than what they truly are; lies. Pansexuality, when broken down, literally means the sexual attraction to everything. Really think about what that means.

What's sad is that the "did you just assume my gender?" question isn't even just a meme. Some people actually feel "triggered" when you "assume their gender". If I see somebody that looks like a girl, walks like a girl, talks like a girl, and dresses like a girl, then I will refer to that person as a girl. And if it turns out that that person is a guy, and he's "triggered" that I "assumed his gender", then maybe he should re-evaluate his life. People take so much offense when you can't figure out what gender they are, then they try to make it look like it's your fault that you couldn't figure it out!

This one time, I was hanging with this guy and his cousin came along. So we went to some restaurant, and I had initially thought that his cousin was a girl. In his Snapchats to me, his cousin looked like a girl. He did his hair like one, he acted like one, the whole 9 yards. And when I first met his cousin, I was taken aback.

This is because he still looked like a girl with a really girly haircut, and he wore a choker, and a girl's shirt and jeans, but he had the physical facial features of a guy. We then walked over to the restaurant. And when we were at the restaurant, he kept being really obnoxious and was very obvious about his disdain that people were looking at him. He kept saying "how rude" it was, and that people should mind their own business. But honestly, they were probably only looking at him so they could find out if it was a guy, or a girl.

Why is it that when I look up how many genders there are, it says 63? Scientifically, you can either be born with a penis, a vagina, or in the very rarest of cases, both. And even in those rare cases, those people tend to choose one gender after a length of time. But let's take a look at some of these "genders".

Please take for example, a "Masculine male-attracted hermaphromale" A "hermaphromale" is a hermaphrodite (someone born with physical characteristics of both genders). So this "gender" is just a gay, manly, hermaphrodite. Which means that he's a hermaphrodite that got the female parts removed, and is gay. Okay, was that so hard? You can find the complete list of "genders" here: https://apath.org/63-genders/

Now, let's move on to some of these "sexualities". First, I must recognize the "original" three sexualities. There is homosexuality, which is feeling attraction solely to members of the same gender.

Then, there is bisexuality, which is feelings of attraction to both genders. Then, there is heterosexuality, which is feeling attraction to members of the opposite gender.

But according to many, there are thousands of additional sexualities. I will only outline a few, as it would make this article far too long to discuss them all.

Amiccussexual- feeling sexually attracted to someone that you are platonically attracted to. In laymen's terms, this means that someone who identifies as this is only attracted to, essentially, their friends.

Minsexual- feeling attracted to masculine people. Broken down, a bisexual person is attracted to masculine people.

For some reason, polyamory is under this list of sexualities. Which, for those of you that don't know, essentially means that this person is into having more than one romantic or sexual relationship occurring at the same time. Also known as having an "open relationship", or just being a hussy, in my opinion.

I must say that I find it beyond ridiculous that everyone must have a label for something to make themselves feel special. Just because you're attracted to a trait or characteristic, it doesn't have to become some crazy sexuality! I'm into white and Mexican guys, but that doesn't mean that I'll call myself a Caucasian-latino-attracted-homosexual. Not only is that a mouthful, but it just comes off as a desperate plea for attention. To see the full list of "sexualities", you can find them here: https://ageofshitlords.com/complete-list-of-all-tu...

Let me state again that it is not my intention to deprive anyone of their social, political, or economic rights. I believe that there are two genders and three sexualities. Gender, you can choose. Sexuality, you can not. I think Gloria Carter (Jay-Z's mom, and an out and proud lesbian) said it best:

"Living in the shadow
Can you imagine what kind of life it is to live?
In the shadows people see you as happy and free
Because that's what you want them to see
Living two lives, happy, but not free
You live in the shadows for fear of someone hurting your family or the person you love
The world is changing and they say it's time to be free
But you live with the fear of just being me
Living in the shadow feels like the safe place to be
No harm for them, no harm for me
But life is short, and it's time to be free
Love who you love, because life isn't guaranteed
Smile"

Life is too short to be running around with fake labels and trying to feel special. So instead of wasting time trying to hide behind labels, it's a much better use of your time to simply go out and succeed.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

The transition into adulthood is never easy

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

9 Reasons Why Friends Are Essential In College

College without friends is like peanut butter without jelly.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
