Over the past couple of weeks, the phrase, "It is no longer I, it is Christ who lives in me" has been going through my head. What does that mean? It means we do not live for ourselves. We live for God and we should do everything to honor and praise Him. We are not on this earth for ourselves, but we are on this earth to serve God. Many times, I wonder what God wants me to do for Him. I feel like what I do is still not enough, but it is. If I serve God in everything I do, then I am doing enough ,and I am doing what He wants me to do. Galatians 2:20 says, " I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me".
Lately, I have been taking negative things and I turn them into positive things. Each morning when I am driving to school, I thank God for the cold weather. I absolutely hate the cold, but it is God's creation. He gave us cold weather for a reason and some people would love to have cold weather, so I thank Him for that. It is important to thank and praise God through the positive and negative times. He deserves our praise. He is worthy of our praise. The next time you catch yourself being negative, turn that negative into a positive and praise God for it. Christ is in you when you praise and honor Him.
"It is no longer I, it is Christ who lives in me". Wow. That is such a powerful statement. We should not take Christ being in us lightly. The God who knows, loves, cares, and controls us is in us. That is so amazing to think about. A lot of times, we get caught up with ourselves, but it is no longer about you. It is about Christ living in you. When Christ is in you, we should walk, talk, and act like it. Think about how He wants you to act in certain situations. Remember the saying, "WWJD" (What Would Jesus Do)? Well, we should ask ourselves that when we are put in a situation and we do not know how to act. Jesus wants us to love and care for everyone, and yes that can be hard, but do it anyway. Always be the bigger and better person that God wants you to be. We are influenced by our culture, but we need to be influenced by God. We should be doing what God wants us to do.
Always remember that Christ is in you. Do not let the world influence that. You are living for a powerful, mighty, and gracious God. God is so good and gracious to us. The least we can do is serve and praise Him in and through everything. It is important to remember that Christ lives in us. We should reflect Him in a positive way. Let people see Christ shine through you. Be different than the world. Be who God has called you to be and live it out for His namesake. Lastly, remember that it is no longer about you, it is about Christ who lives in you.
