It Is Important to Remember
Georgann Kaliroff

Within the heart of lower Manhattan lies the Freedom Tower, 9/11 memorial and museum. Everyday thousands of people come from all over the world to pay their respects and view the tragic, but beautiful masterpiece that was recently created among the grounds where the Twin Towers once stood. By taking a visit to the site, one may come across the bone-chilling remembrance of the events that occurred on September 11, 2001. The two gigantic Memorial reflecting pools were placed where the towers left their mark. Among the edge of each Memorial lies the engravings of the names of the people who lost their lives on the day of the attack.

Not only is the memorial a breathtaking place to visit, but also the museum is as well. Even though these places are extremely sad to visit, it is important to go and remember what happened on this day. Everything that was built in honor of 9/11 is constructed beautifully and is very well done. One can spend hours in the museum looking at all the items that were collected on the day of the attack and the days that followed.

Whether it is an hour visit or an all day event, take some time and head over to remarkable memorial. Take time to remember what occurred on September 11, 2001. By remembering what happened, we are helping to also prevent another event like this from happening. It is important to stick together and remember as a nation that America is strong and will come together in the best of times and the worst of times.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
