I seriously never thought the day would come where I would see the end of Brangelina. Okay, that may not be entirely true. Let’s face it, celebrities break up more often than little kids eat applesauce. Nowadays, infants love those squeezable pouches, but you get my point. As a twenty-year-old college student, I grew up with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as a solid couple. My parents are the ones who grew up with Brad and Jennifer Anniston, and were devastated with Angelina swooping in and stealing Pitt away from her on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. However, I think Brangelina really won over our hearts when they started to have babies, both of their own and through adoption. Could family get any better than that? They continued their beautiful genes and also gave those who do not have a true home, a completed family. Now, that has all been torn apart. Rumor on the block is that Brad got a little too cozy with his French, female co-star Marion Cotillard on his new movie called Allied. However, I am having trouble believing this is true. So, for the sake of taking the middle ground, I am going to list all the reasons why this could be the real reason or completely fake gossip as to why my favorite celebrity couple (besides Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds) ended their marriage. First let’s start with why it could be true, because that’s much more juicy news:

• Brad Pitt’s Past

So, Pitt’s past is not really his best friend in this scenario. After all, he did begin his romance with Angelina Jolie on a movie set, and ended things with his then- wife Jennifer Anniston for his new leading lady. If it has happened before, arguably it could definitely happen again, this time with Jolie as the runner-up.

• Timing

One could argue that it simply cannot be coincidental that Paramount released the trailer of their new movie Allied on the very same day that Brangelina’s divorce was announced. Stuff like that does not just happen, but it is more likely genius and shameless marketing.

• Angelina’s Reaction

Not only was Angelina the one who filed for divorce, rather than Brad, but she also asked for custody of the kids. Clearly, Brad seriously screwed up one way or another. There were also reports that Angelina visited the movie set and completely ignored Brad’s co-star out of jealousy. Usually, jealously does not come out of nowhere. Plus, Brad has been intimate in movies with female leads before, yet Angelina hasn’t been jealous. There was something about this one though…

• Hello, It’s A Romance Movie

I do not know if you have all seen Mr. and Mrs. Smith, but one could argue it is a sexy movie. This only made it easier for Brad and Angelina to fall for each other while making it. Allied is yet another movie where the male and female lead are madly in love with each other.

• No Visitation Rights

At this point in time, it is understand that Angelina Jolie has insisted that Brad is not allowed to have any visitation rights to see his children currently. This may be linked to the rumors that Pitt is under investigation for child abuse after he had a public fight with his son Maddox when they returned from France. However, others have claimed this is completely fabricated. If so, why would Angelina ask for no visitation?

Okay, now here are the reasons why Brad simply could not have had an affair, causing their divorce:

• Together Twice As Long

Although Brad and Jennifer were married for five years while Brangelina was only married for two, the couple was together for over a decade. That is nearly double the length of Brad’s previous marriage. Some could argue that that is twice the amount of love, just saying. My point is clearly he was happier with Angelina than Jennifer, so why cheat?

• They Started A Family

The one thing that Brad and Jennifer never had together was a completed family. The pair never had kids of their own, nor adopted. I do not believe they even had a pet together. However, Angelina and Brad had three biological children and adopted one as well, in addition to the two that Angelina Jolie adopted before their marriage. I feel like having this bountiful family is six more reasons, one per child, why Brad simply would not cheat on their mother.

• Previous Acting Roles

Okay, so just like Brad’s past can haunt him, it can also help him. For instance, Brad has been romantically involved, only on screen, with his female co-stars (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) previous to his most recent one, Allied. This shows he can clearly handle being intimate with a female lead without having an affair with her.

• Jennifer Anniston’s Claims

It is possible that Brad Pitt actually did not physically cheat on Jennifer Anniston while filming Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Of course, some may say he still did emotionally cheat, as the movie could have led to their soon-after relationship. However, Anniston reported that their marriage ended not because anyone did anything wrong, but because things just happen. It’s safe to say that Anniston would consider cheating as “something wrong,” don’t you think?

• She’s Angelina Jolie

Although I love Jennifer Anniston more than life itself because of her role as Rachel on Friends, Angelina Jolie is not only the most beautiful woman, (in my opinion) but she is also a humanitarian. How do you cheat on a humanitarian? I mean, is that even possible?
