It’s rather like a tsunami: in the beginning,
Easy-going, relaxing, and tranquil.
Your happiness is at its peak, and you can’t
Imagine what could possibly destroy that feeling.
The sun beams, glistening across the water,
even the seagulls are happy.
Not a cloud in the sky, so there is no
warning of a storm, not even a few droplets of rain.
But suddenly, the fun splashing waves begin to recede, and no one
knows why. So the swimmers chase the waves, wanting more, but
they keep pulling back. Swimmers are delusional to the fact that something
occurred deep within. Even a minor disturbance can lead to devastation.
So unpredictable and rarely with warning, it hits. It isn’t
something that can be brushed off; it’ll knock you down hard,
again and again. As it charges at you, it grows bigger than you
would ever be able to stand up to. So abrupt, immediate, and sudden.
So you decide to escape it and attempt escape the burden, but
it already got hold of you. You assume that wave was the biggest,
but it wasn’t. They keep coming, and won’t stop. The damage
circulates all over, and the traumatic effect begins to settle in.
There is no repair to this damage. Not even the hardest working, nor
most qualified construction worker is able collect the fragmented shards
of beautiful times and precious memories as the source of the damage is
able to. The pain of broken bones cannot compare to that of a single, broken
There is visible, significant wreckage all around, and not a remainder
left of the beautiful day. Screams or deadening silence disseminates
throughout. And without purpose or reasoning, it drifts and leaves for
good. As if widespread destruction wasn’t enough, it leaves you to suffer.
