Is Being A Witch A Trend Or Are We Turning To Witchcraft

Merry Meet Everyone

Throughout history, there have been different viewpoints on people who consider themselves witches. With Halloween around the corner, there will be a surge of all thing spooky. When one plays with the persona of a "witch", everyone feels differently about it. You can feel powerful/raw or naughty/sensual. For me, having a witchy personality means feeling powerful, and humble at the same time. With different viewpoints on the rise and the rise of religious feelings in the U.S, there are some of us who think that some places of worship need to be knocked down a few notches and go back to there roots. I've been hanging out with a group of witches for a while now and I am beginning to see how noble and kindhearted witches are compared to the Hollywood way of portraying them.

You may want to feel more witchy just for the Halloween season, but there are some people who live that all year round and the vibe of these people are truly something to behold. I feel like witchcraft is misunderstood because of the religious propaganda that surrounds it. There are some black sheep in the herd but every religion has black sheep. I've noticed witches are the first to offer help when someone needs it compared to other religions. Feeling witchy is more than buying the crystals, cauldrons or the spooky decor that comes with it.

Did you know that forward-thinking women during the Witch Trials throughout Europe and North America were considered Witches? Feminism now is starting to be associated with Witchcraft again. It's funny how history tends to repeat itself, but this time we aren't burning witches at the stake. The negativity is from cowards who sit behind closed doors or a computer screen. I've seen an influx of witches coming out of the broom closet and it is a beautiful thing to witness. People living their truth is something to behold. I want to see what happens after Halloween because it's sad to see some witches going back into "hiding" because they don't feel valid or it's sad to see people who pretend to feel cool.

Witchcraft can be a trend or it can be a way of life. I've noticed with hanging out with witches that they have one rule whereas the Catholic Church has ten. The Witches Rule is "Do What Thy Will and Harm None" and that is something that I can get behind. What that means is that witches believe in Karma. What a witch does is on them and the universe punishes or rewards them for what they've done. If a witch does something negative then it's on them. It's like when someone murders someone because they will get punished one way or another. They, also, are the most open-minded people I've ever met. If people believing in karma and open-mindedness is a bad thing then I don't want to be around here anymore.

Blessed Be Everyone

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
