According to many people, white roses symbolize death. Obviously death is a time of grieving and sorrow. However, when thinking about red roses, they are a symbol of love and beauty. The color white represents purity and innocence which is most commonly seen on wedding days when the bride walks down the isle towards her future destination of love. Is it just the color that changes the roses meaning? Why does a white rose depict sadness? Yet, a white dress is being worn when walking down the isle which is supposed to be a happy day. How does it add up?
Love sometimes does not add up itself. You look around and you might see two people together and you wonder why they chose each other. There is always this judgment about how someone is not good enough for them and that they should not settle. Yet, what if they are not settling? The only people who actually know the relationship are the two people in the relationship themselves. In life, it can be hard to follow your heart even though you want to do so badly. It is usually said that you need to follow your heart or your brain. However, what about your ears? Your ears are in charge of listening to people and their comments/opinions. Shouldn't we not care what people think? For some reason we do. Maybe they are looking out for us but what if you let go of someone who was your other half. I guess it is the risk people have to take.
Finding someone is a risk in itself. Maybe you are shy and are trying to put yourself out there because on the other side is this happiness that everyone wants to and should experience at least once in their lifetime. The risk of walking up to someone and complimenting them. Who actually does that these days? I am an old fashioned person who wants someone to bring me a flower and walk to the door to pick me up, open the door for me, pull out my chair, and just be themselves. Apparently, not many people know how to do that anymore. Back then, meeting people was easy, they walked up to someone and shared their feelings. When at a bar today, people do not meet. They all stay in their groups of friends and rarely travels to another group to meet others. Today, phones block the faces of millions. I wonder if people like to hide behind screens and that is why online dating is very popular. Online might be easier but where is the thrill or the butterflies?
Those butterflies or that feeling that you are so excited to see someone is a feeling that does not make you question why you are on this journey. You want an end game. It is said that you have two eyes, two ears, two lips, but only one heart. The reason for that is so you can find your other heart so that one day you get to wear that white dress down the aisle and live Happily Ever After.
(True) Love,
