What is Beauty? Does it exist? Is there a difference between being beautiful and being pretty?

Obviously beauty exists. That is a valid question even though it has an obvious answer. I will now try to define both beauty and being pretty.

If we think about this logically, being pretty is a social construct, but what about beauty. What is it? Well first let us distinguish between being beautiful and being pretty. Being pretty consists of the quality of attraction, which is relative. What some people are attracted to is different than others. Someone can be pretty without being beautiful, yet someone cannot be beautiful without being pretty in some aspect. Yet this does nothing to answer our question, what is beauty?

I can only describe what beauty is to me because like i said, beauty is relative. To me beauty is more than just a pretty face. It is a caring and loving heart who holds no record of wrongs. It is a personality trait not a physical characteristic. It means that beautiful is not always pretty. It means that someone who is beautiful is genuine about their flaws and doers not blame others for their wrongdoings. Yet they also don't always blame everything on themselves. They make the conscious decision to step outside their comfort zone and help those that noone else will. This ties right into the question, what is love? Love fits all of these same characteristics yet adds more depth because the kind of love I am describing is the kind of love that spouses should have for each other.

Beauty is dependent on unconditional love and acceptance. So according to my definition, beauty is based off a fundamental attraction plus true love. My definition entails that people misuse and misconstrue the word beauty, often confusing it with the word pretty. These two words are very different in some aspects yet are very similar in others. Again, with this article I am not trying to tell you what beauty is. I am trying to encourage you to find your own definition of beauty. I strictly support the pursuit of knowledge and learning things for yourself. So in turn, I am encouraging you to completely disagree with what i am saying and learn the facts for yourself.
