Random Facts About Me As Told Through Nick Jonas's Song 'Introducing Me'
Kristen Breen

Have you ever wondered what makes your friends, family members, or significant other who they are? Do you ever think that you don't actually know as much about them as you think you do? Have you ever asked them what weird habits or likes and dislikes they have? This past week, I kept asking myself these questions. I realized if I'm wondering what I don't know about them, they are probably wondering the same thing about me. So, with some inspiration from Nick Jonas' incredible song "Introducing Me" from the even more incredible movie "Camp Rock 2" I have decided to introduce myself to the world. (P.S. If you're unfamiliar with the song I posted it below for you to listen to.)

I'm, no good at reading maps
I think I always need a nap
And I bet you're thinking
That I should drink some coffee

I eat pie, but only on Christmas Eve
And sometimes I forget to fold my laundry
Until my roommate reminds me to
And I, I really like it when I'm sent a piece of snailmail
And I'll love you every single day

Even if you don't
Wanna know
I'm gunna tell it to ya
What's inside of me come in close
Wanna tell you all that I am
But remember who you're talking to
My words won't be the best to express
So it's easier to write all down please don't frown
If you wanna hear everything
My life, will you ask about it, for your information
And some contemplation, possibly elation
Introducing me

Doo doo, doo doo doo doo
Doo doo, doo doo doo doo
La da da da
La da da da da da da da, da

I always, first put on my right shoe
Ice cream is my favorite food
I like to bake, or to create, or to rollerskate
And I've always really been into sports
I like comfy athletic shorts and homemade pizza
And shows with lots of drama in 'em
I hate the feel of styrafoam
And I love to run some miles

Even if you don't
Wanna know
I'm gunna tell it to ya
What's inside of me come in close
Wanna tell you all that I am
But remember who you're talking to
My words won't be the best to express
So it's easier to write all down please don't frown
If you wanna hear everything
My life, will you ask about it, for your information
And some contemplation, possibly elation
Introducing me

So now you know more than you ever needed to
I'll be careful when I talk next time

But even if you don't
Wanna know
I'm gunna tell it to ya
What's inside of me come in close
Wanna tell you all that I am
But remember who you're talking to
My words won't be the best to express
So it's easier to write all down please don't frown
If you wanna hear everything
My life, will you ask about it, for your information
And some contemplation, possibly elation
Introducing me

Doo doo, doo doo doo doo
Doo doo, doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo

Introducing me

So to anyone who has ever wanted to know some random things about me...here you go. Sorry you had to read it to find out, but that's just me (you probably already know that by now)! I encourage you all to "introduce" yourself to all of the people in your life no matter how long you have known them.

P.S. If you were wondering I did order that ice cream sundae in the cover photo for lunch one day

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
