An Interview With My Suitemates
Suite Life of Zack and Cody

With Freshman year in our rear view mirror, 6 pretty ladies have embarked on they're sophomore year (also known as the year of the ~wise fool~). I was lucky enough to sit down with 5 of the suite mates and speculate about what this year will have in store. Let's meet the squad!

Gina

Gina is starting her second year as a bio major. Gina is from Rochester and she has luxurious red hair, but hates being called a ginger.

Rachel

Rachel is majoring in talking aka communications. She's originally from Westchester or calls it "the best-chester." And back in her glory days she could put her tongue in her nose. Unfortunately this is a skill she no longer has. :-(

Jena

Jena is an education major. She hopes to one day be a kindergarten or first grade teacher. Her hometown is Buffalo, and she had an eye patch in 3rd grade so she is basically a former pirate.

Amanda

Amanda is a poly-sci major. She (like myself) comes from the mighty Long Island. Up until the age of four she enjoyed sucking her toe.

Taylor

Taylor, like Gina, is also a bio major. She is from the Saratoga area and she has extra bones in her feet that causes her to break them a lot. (She broke her foot last Halloween).

Q: What was the worst part of moving in?

Gina: It was f***ing hot.

Taylor: Lifting and pivoting the couch up the stairways the worst. It took four girls, one townie, and three boys.

Rachel: Dragging all my clothes and belongings upstairs sucked.

Amanda: Unpacking, I hate unpacking.

Jena: The elevator was awful and I parked illegally so the police called us twice.

Q: What are you most excited to be back for?

Gina: I really am excited to go out with all my suite-mates. Turn up!

Rachel: I'm definitely not excited for class, but drunk food or like just wanting drunk food makes me happy to be back.

Amanda: I'm just glad to be living with my fab suite-mates.

Taylor: I'm super excited to look into the multitude of opportunities Geneseo has to offer me.

Jena: I'm going to have to agree with Gina. Turn up!

Q: What song are you going to play on repeat all year?

All: Closer by the Chainsmokers!!!!!! Such a jam. (Add it to all of your playlists people)

Q: What's the most annoying thing you'll do in the suite this year?

Amanda: Play music you guys don't like.

Taylor: I will walk into any room and just strike up a conversation with anyone. My sister says it's pretty annoying. And pacing, that seems to piss people off.

Gina: Yeah I'll probably blast rap which I know you guys don't like.

Rachel: I sing a lot at random times.

Jena: I like to randomly dance around.

Q: What is you favorite item in the suite?

Gina: The (illegal) microwave.

Jena: The toboggan table and the lava lamp (it's super trippy).

Rachel: Mine is the tapestry. I love a good tapestry pic. It makes for a great insta.

Amanda: I love the beanbag. I would fill the whole suite with beanbags if I could.

Taylor: I really enjoy our pet ladle. He looks like a dinosaur and loves going to walks.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
